Oh yeah 4WD compact 50 hp turbo diesel tractor, with bucket and forks. Don't wait. You're old, trust me.

Congrats James
Looks awesome and I’m down for a HAMOM to check out the new place. You should schedule it for after some of us get back from Moab since there is a good chance I might have to fix my junk.

Haven't heard a word about the tC - so that's good news. I'd be the first to know if something went wrong. "Adult" is a relative term.

I've looked into tractors/backhoes/etc. What I can say is that my new neighbor has a big boy CAT (I think) bucket loader... Might see if there's a way to use it.

that Toro has 38HP so it should do fairly well pulling smaller stuff.

James did you ever re order 6 shooter knuckles for your 60?

There is a guy selling some on NC4x4. Maybe you can save a few bucks if you get them from him unless you already ordered new ones.

Yeah I’ve got them.

Got axle rebuild kits, new brakes, new bilsteins, etc. Free moments are the only thing I’m missing :)

Congrats on the new place! So jealous. I have one acre and have a shop planned out but can't afford the lumber to start it.

Not to derail James’s thread but
Jonathan, why not go with a metal building like Eric Johnson’s?

I decided I’m going to work out of my garage until I find a place ( I have been looking) like James just bought. But that my be a few more years now.

HOA requirements dictate that the building must match the house. Walls have to be covered in hardiboard with matching shingles on the roof. A roof pitch of 6/12 or greater is also required. While Southeastern building supply is my first choice, they only offer a 3/12 roof pitch. I'm also bending the rules as much as I can since the covenant is vague on building height and building size. This will be the largest detached garage in the subdivision by far, 30 x 44 with 12ft walls.

If this was a small shed, walls and shingles still have to match but roof pitch can be anything.

I am slacking at 5

Oddly enough we are limited to one detached building per lot but if I attach other sheds/garages/lean-to's to my detached garage, then it is classified as "one" building. I could build a city in my backyard of tiny sheds.

Congrats James!! We are looking to move to a similar property in the next two years.

Man, that's awesome! Congrats!!!
