Uh, Cool trip. Was that all work related? Your mechanical skills and the size of your balls amaze me. As far as build is that a government vehicle and government maintained? If so, your starting point was much better than mine.

No - it is my own car. And others - Suzuki's are cars of my friends.
No work related, own track, own fuel, own parts.
That was the trip on abandoned places and very old roads what are used only by heavy crawler vehicles.

I'm not much of an off roader at this point. I would find your adventure to be a bit nerve wrecking but very awesome to experience. Enjoyed the pics of your trip.

Ok, thank you for such words. Soon will be another trip much more interesting and longer!

I am so glad that I stumbled upon this thread. Fantastic work and absolutely incredible pictures. I gotta say you Russians are an incredibly resourceful people. 3 years ago I spent 3 weeks in Russia for work, 500 km south east of Nizhnevartovsk. I was quite amazed at the work that got completed with the equipment available!
Keep posting the updates!!!

After looking through your entire thread @Alic, I can honestly say that it's one of my favorite. Your approach to vehicle maintenance and modification is no nonsense and well executed and the photo journal of your adventures is exceptional.

Thank you guys. It will be continued... it is so much more to say and to show.

Now its new modifications time!
First of all some words about my sleaping gear.
We have no cool vendors that make a awesome sleaping gear... you now with sliding boxes, with cool accessories and fitings, with fridges, cofee machines and jacuzzi...
Thats why i took up hammer, pice of rope and knife and begin to do it from nothing.
What I want to see. chip, lightweight, ventilating, easy to install gear.

What i got...
Alu frame with plywood. 2 inch soft lining.
Front part(platform) of gear is collapsible and take place behind of rear seats. Collapsible option is only for good rear mirror view.

All sides made with ventilation, rear panel can be raised.
Gear at all is bolted to body.
And spreaded platforms allow you to drive free. So you can seat on front seats without any discomfort.
Total lenght of gear is 193 cm.

For my long trips I need more fuel. As internal Japanese LC80 normally does not have subtank I have to install handmade.
Some dancing with tape measure in nearest junkyard and I find a good tank from nissan patrol with its own armor.
Purchased it and install.
I use a pour variant to use subtank. So I push the button and fuel pumping from subtank to another.
I use external japan pump from some one small car. And twin filler from LC 105.
Befor pump I installed gasoline fuel filter - in order not to prevent water to flow througt it.
Water will be filtered by main two filters under bonnet.
Fuel meter I use from some japan heavy truck.

Now I have 200l of diesel fuel and do not need to have a dansing with fuel cans.

I'm asking!

Also, where is your spare tire? I can't imagine doing that trip without one, or even two.
