Recommended Tire pressure for 265/75R16

This question opens a can of worms, some folks will say 50psi some will say 25psi.

The only data point I can offer is that I've been running 32psi on 285/75/16 BFG KO2's for the last 50k miles and they have worn evenly, handle well on the road and offroad (dirt roads not rock crawling) and my fuel economy is always between 12-14mpg, usually in the mid 13's.

If I'm doing a ton of high speed (LOL in the cruiser) highway miles i'll bump it up to 34psi.
 
I put it 35 but it becomes tough and not smooth at all. So i guess better to put it at 3w front and rear
 
On one of my 80's I have Michelin LTX/MS 265-75-R16 (this is the P rated tire, not the LT version, which are much stiffer). I run them at 36 psi which seems to be a sweet spot for not too harsh a ride, good wear, and no decrease in mpg.

IME if you air down much below that you may see a significant drop in mpg, but all of it (ride comfort, mpg,---) depends on the particular tire's design (sidewall C, D, E, LT, tread), etc,etc.

All depends on the tire and what you're doing with it. Some more info would be helpful.
 
I don't know a lot of this topic but when my rig came with non-standard tires and wheels, I reached out to BFG because I was curious what they'd say. Here was the response for BFG K02 LT265/70R17 (112/109S) tires with 4Runner Trail Edition wheels:

We typically would recommend going by the PSI indicated on the door sill to determine the optimum inflation pressure. Because you are using an alternative size rather than the OE size of P275/70R16 we would need to convert the maximum load to determine the recommended PSI for the LT fitment. The maximum load for the OE size at the recommended pressure of 32 PSI would be 2,450. We divide that by 1.1 and it gives us 2,255lbs which equates to 45 PSI for your current fitment. This would be the recommended inflation pressure and it will give you a total carrying capacity of 9000lbs.

FYI: The pressure indicated on the sidewall of the tire gives you the maximum inflation pressure for your Load Range C (6ply) tire. This pressure shouldn't be exceeded and is only to be used if you need to carry a maximum load of 9,880lbs.

I thought it was a helpful response! That being said, I'm not carrying anywhere near 9000lbs...just the rig + front bumper so I've left them all at 34psi. Been too lazy to do any of the tests to see if they are wearing evenly. I'd feel open to experimenting with higher pressures once I get the suspension issues fixed so far so good at 34.
