HI THERE, it looks like we have same transmission A442F fully hydraulic, and planning to buy overhaul kit as preventive maintenance. However, when I googled the kit you listed here "Transtar 137006AF" it shows it is for A440F 1985-1992. Is there an issue you had using this kit to A442F? Mine is HDJ81 VX JDM. Thanks so much.Update**
Pulled the trans out of the land cruiser
Pulled the valve body out air tested thw actuation of the clutch packs. Looks like #3 broke a snap ring causing the clutch pack to come loose and the friction brass gear teeth wore out.
Ordered another rebuild kit pn#137006AF TRANSATAR.

The kit is a master kit A442F A440 A343 is included in this kit you will not use all parts supplied
I got mine rockauto back in the day
dont forget brass bushes not included in kit and a must for the 2nd and 3rd modified clutches from wholesale automatics (this is the weak point)

***Update and project on hold for a while. Upon dropping the pan I noticed a small o-ring. Looks to be a o-ring that goes between the cages and the transmission case. There is 6 o-rings in total. 3 orings for the cage that goes where the oil pump connects to and 3 for the cage in the middle...

for me the cheapest was DHL and it was way way cheaper then going direct to the DHL depot to ship

oh yeah? last time I checked there were no local vendors in USA for Wholesale automatics Which had stock for the modified 2/3 clutches and had stock of a Extreme valve body for 1990-1991 hydro only I had to send in my valve body to have it built and sent back.
if you have a list of Wholesale automatic vendors in USA im all ears because at the time there were no distrubutors avaliable who had parts in USA.

Yep, I bought the universal tranny cooler by WA from Cruiser Brothers. Pretty quick shipping as well.
I had my hydro A442f rebuilt a few years ago, the US source rebuild kits did not have the correct valve body gaskets. They are specific to the hydro A442f and different than the gas powered ones. I needed to source them from overseas. If you are using an upgraded Extreme valve body, the gaskets should be included.
I didn’t think about it at the time, but Wholesale Auto or one of their US distributors should be able to get you the correct VB gaskets.
