Sorry for the delay, out of town over the weekend.
The last masonite test was not quite perfect, a couple more adjustments had to be made.
That has been going back and forth quite a bit.
I'll try and get a photo later today.

Got a bit more work done.
Here you can see the new panel compared to the Carpet that Brian sent me:

And without the carpet, I've got the bolt holes lined up perfect now:

You can see the profile is not perfect yet though:

And a fix to get us a bit closer.....
The file is down at my laser cutter now.

Thanks for all the encouragement (i.e.. nagging) helps keep me on track. :p
Especially with this damn heat, the garage looks less and less appealing as it gets hotter and hotter out.

Looks good, I was thinking of putting 6x9 speakers in that part of the tailgate

What? You don't have air conditioning in your garage?:D

Seriously though - how is it looking for the plastic bridge plate? Will they get caught on the lower set of screws? Maybe a little inclined bumper just below the screws will help it move over the screws when closing the tailgate?

Great work and thanks for the pictures! Eagerly awaiting the final outcome.

Cheers!

That would work until you stood on one of them, I know it wouldn't take me long. :p

I've tried to get AC a few times, but the deals keep falling through.
Just need to move somewhere cooler.
I'm actually fine all winter in there, it's the damn summer heat and humidity that gets me.

The set plate needs to stay, I like that feature so I will figure out what needs to be done, that part is still up in the air since as you can tell from the pictures, I don't have that other part of the truck.

It might even just work as is, will have to see.
We could use flat head screws on the 100 gates if we have to as well.
I think I just need to leave it open and solve that problem with the first install, se what happens.

Any updates on this one.

I want to see how this comes out before doing drawers.

LOL I was thinking the same exact thing which is why I decided not. Although adding a 6-1/4" speaker on the outer edges may not be impossible since they are a bit smaller:hhmm:

Hi,

Any update on this? Now that I seen it I gotta have it!

Cheers

Looking good Kevin.

any update??

hello, Bueller, Bueller???

hello, Bueller, Bueller???

Yeah, yeah, I'm still here. :p
Been trying to figure out what to do with this 100 series tailgate lid I have sitting here.
I have one "ready to go" but as most of you know, I don't have a 100.
That presents a big 'ol problem for me since I'm really OCD about the stuff I make and there are a bunch of tiny little concerns that I have that any normal person would not even notice.

So my dilemma is that I need someone to help me.
I've been seriously considering getting this first one powder coated and making the drive to the UP to cut up Yoopers tailgate since we know each other and he can be pretty picky, but I almost think he's too easygoing to be REALLY discriminatory.

So my question is, who among you has the reputation for being the most anal-retentive picky SOB 100 series owner that also also happens to be in the market for a tailgate lid?
I think that's were I need to start.
Do you guys think Yooper is picky enough?

I'm not willing to keep going with the gates until I make sure they're right.

I have a deal for you: come out to Oregon and you can try on mine! :)

Self promotion doesn't count. :p
You have to have an established reputation of picky PITAness. :D

O.R. is a definitive possibility, but a little ways off still. We are looking to move to that general area, just need to find a job worth moving for.

Are you in Scottsville, NY? Anyone near him that can get this moving? Thanks, uzj100

Guys,

We need a donor 100 up in the NY area. Anyone out there? Loud? Anyone? Bueller?

I checked on Club Lexus as there are a few upstate NY members there, no joy. Neither of my trucks need to be cut up, too many additional lights in the tailgate ;)
