Guys,
I just got the dissent rear bumper installed on my Land Cruiser and the shop messed up one of my back up sensors. OEM is stupid money $227. There seem to be plenty of aftermarket replacements on Alibaba, but I am not able to verify if they will actually fit my year. Does anyone of a site to purchase a reasonable aftermarket sensor that will for my vehicle? Thanks.

It‘s actually Cole’s, OTM. I use Daniel as well and they are both great. These parking sensors are pretty fragile and it’s a pain putting them into aftermarket bumpers, so I completely understand how it can happen. I just want to save Cole some money if there are aftermarket sensors that will plug and play out there.

I think and HE cruiser with a Dissent bumper qualifies for stupid money 😎 (this coming from a fellow Dissent owner).

Don't stick Alibaba parts on your rig man. And make the shop pay for it.

Post the year and which sensor is bad and I’ll get you a part number to do some research.

And agreed, the shop should be paying for this.

The shop is paying for the sensor. I was just trying to help them out by saving them some money if possible.

They aren’t that fragile… I installed some in an ARB. I usually screw up 50% of my projects and I didn’t even screw those up. Go OEM or you’ll regret it. I doubt they are fun to replace so I’d get it right the first time.

Those sensors are pretty fussy. I would only go OEM on that. I can see the situation where a year from now you start getting random errors and the dealer will back out of any warranty coverage since it's not an OEM part.

Get the P/N and check ebay. I bought two brand new OEM sensors in black for $30 each for the front of my Cruiser when I did the Dissent front install. You won't always find a deal on there but IMHO it's always worth a look. And definitely go OEM, especially if the shop is footing the bill.

I had to replace one on my Dissent rear bumper install recently and so I purchased a used rear sensor off ebay for $60 and it was in perfect working condition. Incidentally, there is one available on there right now. The Toyota OEM part number you need: 8934160051. It looks like you can also get new ones for $105 including shipping from UAE on ebay as well.

Wherever you get it, don't worry about color matching. I cut out circles, matching the face of the parking sensors, from 3M matte black vinyl adhesive and all the sensors work without issues.
