I could be wrong but I thought some of the LC editions not offered in the US had an available stock option for a ladder. Possibly a retrofit item? I'm having a hard time imagining what it would affix to given the nature of the 100's tailgate. If it was an option at all, I'd think it would only be possible on the 105's that had a double vertical door tailgate. I think most LC owners wanting a ladder have ultimately found value in the increased utility of a steel rear bumper with swingouts.

On a discovery I used to have, a ladder would have a lip you would anchor to the top of the gate and two bolts with anchors would be fixed to the body. I was hoping to find a similar design for the LC.

Does anyone actually use the ladder? Or is it like the "Hey look at me... I'm on a safari" snorkel? Seriously, with rock rails and tires, ya got pretty good access. With a rooftop tent, I could see the ladder helping out.

I use my ladder pretty frequently. I don't have sliders yet and standing on the tires only affords me access to a small portion of the top of the vehicle.

If I were to have it made again (and I might) I'd have the ladder kick out away from the bumper. As it is now, my toes hit the rear hatch. I'd like it to be about 3" further out.

I like the design of the second website. I just wish they had it in black. I'll look into getting that one or possibly fabing one up myself.

Got it.

Went outside and set ladder on truck to take these pics. I set the ladder on top of the spoiler. It needs to be removed to install properly. Have not come around to put this on my truck.

GOBI does make a ladder

Paul at Gobi Racks, used my year 2000 LC for the prototype to make a rack and ladder for the 100 series which attaches solely to the top half or window section of the tail-gate section. The first step you take is on the bumper and then you can scuttle up the ladder to your roof deck. Do you need it if you don't have a rack, the answer is no. If you have a rack and haul stuff up there, then yes, it works well.

Call Brian. I got one from him.

the tent and ladder site is not up yet, but that is the best price I have ever seen on front and rear bumpers. Looking forward to seeing their other products!

I get frustrated looking at Jeep stuff, sliders for $300, rear bumper with swingout for $500...I love the LC and would not consider buying a Jeep, so it is nice to see some more affordable prices.

JDM makes one for the 80 and several other Land Cruiser models, maybe the 100 series also.

I Could not find it, a link would be much appreciated if you have one.

That is a really nice design. Can you let me know where you got the black finish version? I'm hoping it's US and not foreign.
