I have what I believe to be a rear seat from a TJ that I want to put in my 40... I need to confirm which bracket is required and then make it. The first two pics are my seat, the second two are options for the type of bracket. It looks to me like it should be the first set? Is there anyone with these that can help with dimensions? Hate to weld something up and then have the two front pins off by 1/4 inch,
thx

@YukonCruisers did you ever find a solution for this. I’ve got the same bench and need to fab some bracelets. I don’t have the originals so I’m trying to find some specs.

Thanks for responding… I’ll get it figured out

I have the seat like ccot sells and it uses the 2nd set of brackets. My seat looks nothing like the seat pictured. I would guess the pictured seat goes with the first set of brackets.

This is the 2003 seat I have. It does would mount with these brackets…

Since I don’t have them, I’m going to fabricate similar ones.

I need to determine the pin size and decide on mounting heights.

After meals with the callipers I’ve determined 11.55 mm should be a perfect fit. It is in between 1/2” and 7/16”. Coincidentally, it is the diameter of a 1/2” carriage bolt or a 12” foundation bolt (where they have no threads). At Home Depot carriage bolts are $8ish a piece and I’d need about 3 to havre enough or 2 foundation bolts at $2ish each.

Planning on drilling holes in with the centre about a 1/2” down. Once they are tacked together and working I’ll clean trim them up and make them pretty.

Test fit.

I’ve now got all 4 functional.

By design the rear seat will sit somewhat higher than the originally did. They will also be slightly more reclined which should make them somewhat more comfortable. Although comfort is secondary to functionality in this case.

Almost ready to bolt in… hopefully they’ll work as well as I’m expecting. The seat should fold and tumble & be easily removed.

The brackets on the floor will make for secure tie down points when the seat is removed. They are strong enough to lift the tub from… or secure a quad into the back of the 40. :grinpimp:

Such a solid feel when they lock into the brackets on the 1/8” thick steel floor when bolted down with 1/2” bolts. Even with only two of the brackets bolted down it feels more solid than stock car seats.

I’m about 6’5” with shoes on and the seat is decently comfortable. I’ll have belts for 3, which will work, but it’d be more comfortable for 2 adults. Given I previously fit four across the bench that was 8” longer, it should work for 3 when needed.
