What are the measurements of the retaining screw of the rear drums

Wanna say that thread pitch is M8x1.25 don't know about length or anything for them though. Mine are long gone and not needed.

If you lost it or buggered it trying to get it out, no sweat. It isn't needed. Some aftermarket drums don't even have the hole in the drum for it to be used. It doesn't do anything useful. Conjecture has it that it was a Toyota assembly line retaining screw to prevent the drums from falling off as the chassis moved down the line.

x2

IF anything they are a PITA. 1/2 of the time if you have never removed them they are seized and if you forget to put anti-seize on them same result.
Personally I hate them and once you bolt the wheel on the drums hold just fine, like every other vehicle with drum brakes.

Great to know it isn't really needed. My new drums are a tad too thick for the old retaining screw to catch any threads in the spot for it that's in the axle flange. Seemed like an unnecessary part to me since the whole wheel is held onto the rotor with lug nuts. Nice to know my instincts were correct. :) I was trying to figure out all kinds of work arounds. LOL.

M10 x 1.25 on my FJ62. Not easy to find at the local hardware store. I picked up a set as I'm not the only one that might have to change a tire and explaining what to do with a brake drum to my teenager is something I'd like to avoid. But I agree that these seem very superfluous.
