I did a search, but lost patience after the fifth page. I'm sure you guys know this: what bolts fit the 4 bolt holes in the center of the rear bumper on a 96 80-series?

PS - I really wish Slee would have included those bolts with the receiver hitch I bought from them. Kind of a bummer to get a new part, and then have to make a trip to the hardware store to install it. Not the end of the world, but not the most convenient, either.

The two with threads are 12MMX1.25, the other two holes are through holes and 1/2 inch bolts will fit them. I know because i just installed a pintail hitch on my truck. Make sure you chase the threads first, before you try to install the bolts, because they will be full of dirt.

Oh! Two of them aren't threaded?

That's right, the top two are threaded , the bottom two are not. I used grade 8, 1/2 inch bolts, nuts and washers on the bottom two.

Which means you need two sets of tools to remove it later...

Gee Dan, hate to disagree with you but a 19MM wrench fits both bolts just fine. a 1/2 bolt uses a 3/4 wrench or .750 and a 12MM bolt uses a 19MM wrench or .748, so no need as you said "for two sets of tools to remove it later"

I apologize for being a purist. SAE fasteners are "foreign" on a Land Cruiser. :meh:

Update to my original post: Slee DID include the bolts. I lost them when I opened a box full of packing peanuts. Luckily my neighbors didn't catch me digging in the trash today to find them.

Are the bottom holes bigger than 12mm? Or is there not enough material to thread?

Hmm. Might have to get the caliper out and see if it can be tapped.

The steel is ~3mm thick. Not enough material to tap.

Yup.
