I think Just Differentials has a Bilstein 5100 for our trucks if you want to stick with them. I love my fox's more with every mile I drive.

Any more details on running 5100's on our 100's? Do they have longer travel? I ran them on my 2005 4runner and loved them. I was told by bolstering they are designed for the 120 Toyota platform and may be too lightly valves for a heavy cruiser. I'll go do some searching now.

I thought that a member in Australia (Daz, who is selling Slee stuff) has a special Billstein shocks?

Last week I was thinking replacing my old stock shocks with Billstein. With this kind of news, I am placing with Toyota shocks.

At stock ride height I think you'd be fine. By your user name it sounds like you have AHC, and that's a very different shock.

If you have AHC you don't have shocks. You have hydraulic rams. The "shock" function is handled by the accutator accumulators. There are four of them, two each side, bolted to the outside fram rails under the doors.

The rear Bilstein 4600 (24-027403) is 0.6" shorter than the OEM Toyota, when they top out, they pull out of the upper mount.

Don't all rear shocks of any length "top out"? They're the limiting factor for droop.

Here we go again !! After hearing the way too familiar "clunk" in the rear... I just looked at the mounts of my rear struts and another Bilstein bit the dust on the passenger side... !! Will call them on Monday to see what's next??

Bilstein is aware of this problem. It's too bad they won't pull the bad design and replace it with one of correct specs.

Snap!
I just broke a bilstein too. Also got a flat tire, found a phillips head size "hole" in my tire maybe it was shock pieces? or coincidence?

Calling the nice lady Monday and hoping for free shocks otherwise going OEM.

Called bilstein and they sent me to eshocks.com where I bought them. They said call bilstein and I said they told me to call you. So they processed a warranty on one shock only. Calling bilstein back tomorrow. I want 2 shocks or going to oem. BS!!

What a crock of Shock!

This has only gotten worse. I regret even trying to warranty them. Totally not worth it. Would have just thrown them in the garbage.

vendor telling me to contact the manufacturer and the manufacturer telling me to contact the vendor.

Donssport.com would only warranty the broken one and Bilstein said they would test the other one and if specs no good would refund my money. both dragged their feet and created a long drawn out process. Both charged me for a shock and I'll need to send the old back which is fine except because of the delays one shock took about 2 weeks and the other I'm still waiting for 1 month later.

Bilstein has lost a customer for good.

I'll be replacing my front bilsteins with oem very soon.

Broke shock 2 at the same place upon removal with hand tools. Sent it to bilstein. We'll see if they credit my account.

I lost one of my rears when the little tiny snap ring gave in thus shooting the shaft up into the metal near my rear seat. I am glad nothing sheared off like that but Bilstein really needs to get their ish together!

Same thing happen to me for the first time about a month ago and I am on my third set of bilstein. when I took it off I realize it was not broken, but pulled itself out of the top bushing. I figured out the easiest way to take the rear out is to cut the bushings off and push it through the top. So mush easier than trying to f.... with the bolts.
