I am looking to add a aux fuse box and a solar controller behind the rear passenger trim panel. I saw that metric TLC had one but having checked them out on mud it seems that its best to avoid them. Anyone know if their is another source for a bracket like this or have any ideas on how to make one?

You can just send me the cash if you are looking to throw your money away...

Or wait until Joey (@NLXTACY) gets his done. Like the rest of us. Patiently waiting. It will be worth the wait.

Got it done yet Joey?!?!

Many things to do before I add power to the back of the truck. Can afford to wait a bit. Also need to learn about 12 volt wiring. Any good general guides out there?

It's pretty simple. Hell, I even have figured out the basics. Just google search what you are wanting to do i.e. "Dual battery system with solar controller" and it will come up with a Mud link or expedition portal link or pirate4x4 link. Click on the mud link. Follow directions. Enjoy.

Whatever you do, DO NOT click on the pirate4x4 link. Unless you're a d!ck that thinks they know everything, then you'll feel right at home! :flipoff2:

I'm of the opinion that you do what you need to do to get the job done. I don't ask anyone to wait for my junk vs getting someone else's. I don't play that game. I will say that anything to do with those guys and I will never spend a freaking cent of my money. I'd recommend Whole Hog if you need something now.

I'll just gheto fab something in the meantime. Maybe just screw the fuse block into the little cubby hole on the passenger side. Read through the fed on the D pillar mount and will be eagerly awaiting the chance to buy it. I have a list of things I need to buy from Joey as is. That is after my bank account recovers a bit from all the work i'm doing on the 80 and the suspension I just had to put on the wife's jeep to keep her happy.

If you were near me... I'd say bring it over, and we could make that plate up in under 2 hours. Pretty simple (almost too easy if you have a brake!)

Yeah I considered just cutting it out myself but I don't have the tools to make any sort of bends

I mounted the heavy duty relay that fires up my Tmax compressor (built into in draw unit at back) as it previously had battery clips on it, and I want to add a tank eventually, and have it hard-wired not portable.

I also discovered that if you remove the top middle socket from the swicth panel, it fits perfectly over the opening knob, and allows you to twist it just far enough to open and close.

im going to need to re-label the switches, the only one Ive connected up so far is the rear door spots below, but I've got 9 more fuse ways and 5 free switches here now.. roll on more gadgets :)

I liked the right hand cubby hole for wiring as it's too small for much else, and fully plastic inside, no metal for cables to accidentally touch at some point. Its still got room for the solar controller in there on the right too.

That is awesome! Where did you get that switch panel?

How do you keep the switches from getting bumped by cargo?

I mounted a blue sea fuse panel in the cubby - drilled holes inside to get the wires in and out, and yanked the ashtray to bring out the 12v and ARB plugs. Clean and simple. If I had a pic I would post it!

that is of course a good question, I dont have a full solution yet, it needs some sort of cover over it really. in the meantime this has been sufficing.. an old rain deflector ..

I built my own with BlueSea products and kept the pocket for the fuse panel and HAM radio.

Nice! This is exactly what I wanted to do. Did you fabricate that plate or get it from blue seas?

The panel is a piece of free remnant textured ABS from TAP plastics. I cut, shaped and made it fit my needs.
