Real time help. OME install

I'm in the middle of installing my OME lift and I'm trying to replace old steering damper. My problem is I can't get the freakin' thing off. I got the nuts off of both ends, but it almost seems like the orignal is pressed together instead of bolted on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is a picture of the end that bolts to the frame. I undid that end to try to get at it better and I still can't get it undone from that bracket.

I think you need a pickle fork to set them appart....

Autozone rents them out and you get your $$ back when you return it...

It is pressed in (by the nut), which is why it requires violence to pull it apart! It is not a slip fit.

its on a taper so it si very tight but as soon as it has moved a fraction of an inch it will release.normaly we use a tool that has three fingers two either side of the ball joint and the other pushing on the bolt . !I have no idea what this tool is called in american , sorry.I have attached a picture

Allthough I did not swap my steering damper when I put on my lift. Previously I had to use an appropriate "pickle fork" and beat the every loving #$% out of it to get the thing to come apart. I mean
you have to get rough with it, at least I did. I finally decided I was either going to break something or it was going to come apart.

What they all said. You need a puller. I used a compact tie rod end puller. Worked perfect, and fast, too.

Just get a propane torch and a big hammer.

Thank's for all the replys. I quit messing with it for a while and finished up everything else then came back to it. Finally got it off with a torch and hammer. I'll post up pics of the install on another thread.
