Hi All:

The body tubes up to the 1979 model year are pretty interchangeable - just minor differences. If I remember correctly the 1968-72 tubs are identical.

Good luck with the project - I did it on my rig 2.5 years ago.

The only real different you would notice is the front of the cowl has two stamped louvers starting in 1972. 1971 only had the passpnger's side louver attached with screws.

Depending on the month of the 1972 tub, the steering column mount and ignition switch location could be different.

It's 11:25 pm, so I'm just a little fuzzy on all the production changes. Louver vents like Living in the Past mentioned definitely stands out as one. You lose the courtesy light hole and TP eyelet holes that came with a lot of the 71s.

IIRC, the biggie was moving the fuse block from the firewall to the A pillar. Could be a hassle dealing with rehanging the harness.

Best
