Orbit-Eyes™ and On-Road Drive-ability: One of the big questions you may have about our Orbit-Eye™ Suspensions is the On-Road Drive-ability characteristics. Our Orbit-Eyes are mounted only in one shackle to allow for greater off-road flexibility, while still allowing for on-road drive-ability. Since there is a standard pin through the solid-mounted shackle, this allows for the suspension to remain stable at high speeds and keeps the leaf-springs from articulating during highway driving. If you have an off-road only rig we also are happy to offer Orbit-Eye Bushings™ and custom-shackles for both sides of the leaf-springs for maximum articulation!

Orbit-Eyes increase axle articulation (wheel travel) and eliminate chewed-up bushings, too!
THE PROBLEM: If you've done any seriously twisty 'wheeling, you know how quickly regular poly spring bushings get chewed to dust. The reason is that the spring pack is U-bolted to the axle. And the traditional frame mount is rigid, too. So, as the axle angles over obstacles, the spring has no choice but to twist laterally. That not only chews up bushings, but it also limits axle articulation and stiffens the spring rate. A twisted spring cannot respond as well to terrain changes.
THE ORBIT-EYE™ SOLUTION:
Orbit-Eye™ Springs feature custom, larger-than-stock spring eyes in one or both ends of the spring. In place of regular poly bushings, Orbit-Eye Joints allow the spring to pivot in the frame hanger and/or shackle up to 46 degrees. The spring is not forced to twist as it follows the axle's up and down movement.
Your suspension is free to flex to its fullest. And chewed-up poly bushings are a thing of the past!
What's more, the Orbit-Eye™ has been redesigned & refined. It offers vastly better flex, performance and durability than ever!

Interesting, would you consider just selling a front set of springs? My 60's rear suspension is not really applicable to this design, but the dakar's I have in the front are fairly limiting...
 
Sure, I would be more than happy to oblige. Do you want to get the Orbit-Eyes set-up or just a set of basic springs? I also need to know if you need additional weight set-ups etc :)

Orbit.

The front end "should" be similar to stock. The winch bumper is not really heavy, and the motor is a Ferd 302 in stead of a 2F.

I can weigh it if you need.
 
Interesting looking product. I hope it does well, I'm looking forward to seeing it on a few trucks and seeing how it performs on and off road.

At some point down the road I might end up going SOA; this seems like a product I'd consider trying if I ever decide to go that route.
 
I think they would be cool on an SOA application, there'd be a lot of additional flex for off-roading. Whats great about these suspensions is they are available in variable heights so that you can run SOA or SUA and get the amount of lift you need.
 
Interesting product, you got any pictures of this installed on a 40 or 60 with some flex going on? Would be need to see similarly setup trucks in comparison.

I am working on that currently, I have a couple volunteers in the local area so I'm thinking I'll have good data for you in June

So essentially you are an Alcan dealer? Would you have anything available for an 85 mini yet?
 
We spoke on the phone a month ago. I like the idea of the lift but I really would prefer to not be a guinea pig. Mostly just because of the cost. I am ready to purchase, and it is this or a OME. I am 80% on road with my FJ62 so another concern would be the daily driving of the Re-Donka flex.. :grinpimp:
