Hi all,
I recently had my input shaft bearing, throwout bearing, pilot bearing and my clutch disk and pressure plate changed and i am now hearing a very annoying rattling sound when i accelerate at higher speeds (50-100kmph).To me it doesnt sound like bearing noise, before i had everything replaced there was a very audible tick in neutral that went away when the clutch pedal was pressed, now there is no noise in neutral with clutch pedal in or out and the car drives fine.
My thought was it is something to do with the throwout bearing preload and the bearing isnt sitting snug between the pressure plate and clutch fork but i dont know how to fix this, i have adjusted the clutch pedal correctly but this hasnt fixed it. And yes i know i should take it back to the mechanic who did the work but its a huge inconvenience at the moment because he is so far away from me and i need the car for work. I have inspected the gearbox and transfer case as much as i can and cant see anything loose.
The car is a 1997 DX HZJ80
