The UPS man was good to me today. After about 3 weeks of dealing with weathertechs broken gift card system, my mats and window visors arrived. I would say the mats are a 90% fit which is kind of disappointing since they cost so much. The rain visors are awesome though. If I did it again, id probably get black mats.

I Like what you did with the chrome trim and badging. How did you get the bigger chrome pieces off or did you just leave them in place and mask?

Thanks for the help..

It's really easy with plasti dip. You just tape off the general area around the badge. Spray it, and when it dries you can easily peel off the excess on the body, around the badge.

Do some googling on plasti dip badges and you'll find a lot of pictures.

Found a photo of it all taped up. You just have to tape the general area the peele back the excess. It's actually super gratifying peeling it haha.

looks great, Ive had my LX for a couple of months and I plan on doing this in the next couple of weeks. Did you ever think about doing the vents behind rear windows?

I did consider painting then, but since they are already color matched, I decided I liked them the way they are.

Ups was good to me yesterday!

Not pictured is my 5th tire I ordered for a spare. I ended up managing to fit the 295/70/18 but had to remove my trailer hitch (not the kind Incorporated into the bumper) to get it to fit. I really don't like not having a hitch so I guess I'll have to buy a bumper down the road.

Amazon somehow managed to send me smittybilt ramps in place of my order for a smittybilt compressor. I called Amazon and told the lady what I received instead and she was amazed that someone was able to make that mistake. She's overnighting me the compressor and gave me a return label to send back the ramps.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me! My TractionJack should arrive today and I'm excited to test them out this weekend!

where did you find the tires the cheapest? What are your thoughts on the size now that you've driven on them for a couple weeks?

The best deal on the tires is through Discount tire on ebay. They actually have a promotion going now for $100 off of any tire purchase through ebay that totals more than $400. They sell them in pairs too, so you could buy 2 pairs and get $100 off of each pair. I think the deal ends pretty soon though.

I love the tires. I cant really tell a difference in noise to the stock Bridgestone Duelers that were on it. I can definitely feel the weight/larger diameter in the gas and brake pedals though. Its not a huge reduction in power, but its there. I would imagine that it feels similar to the non-VVTi engine now. I would definitely buy them again though.

As for wear, I obviously can't comment as I only have about 100 miles on them now.

I just installed 275/70's KO2's on my truck, but you're really making me think I should order a set of the 295's and put the 275's on my wife's 200...

I think they are the best fitting tire for the LX/LC. I have absolutely 0 rub with the stock suspension. That includes in the L position too. As long as these wear well and have good offroad traction, which all reviews say they are awesome, I will likely stick to these for the life of the LX.

Lookin Sweet!! Imabout to do some more Mods to mine and ur giving me some great ideas ;)

Btw, I have the same mats and after a few months of heat and use they wil flex and fit a little Better but I thought the same thing too!! @Ramathorn15

Got around to installing the ARB breather kit! It was a decent bit more difficult than I expected.

IMG_20160310_203222.jpg

I started with the rear axle. I found it easiest to start under the hood with the hose and route it down and back from there. I was able to follow the vacuum lines to the tank then run the hose past the tank and then down to the axle. The supplied hose is more of a flexible plastic so it can be hard to work with in tight spots. I ended up using spare spaces in the vacuum line hose holders and didn't need to use a single zip tie for the rear axle.

Next, I spent a few min trying to locate the transfercase breather. After a bit, I realized the transfercase breather comes out of the case, enters a splitter, then one line runs toward the front while the other runs to something attached tot he top of the t-case. I followed the line towards the engine and found that it met with another line (transmission breather) which were both then attached to a fitting which was bolted to the back of the engine block on the drivers side and had little "bell" like ends to keep dirt and such out of the line.

IMG_20160310_213439.jpg

I decided that the easiest thing to do would be to run the ARB lines for the t-case and transmission starting at this fitting. I removed the fitting (one 12mm bolt) and used pliers to remove the bells at the top. I then used a dremel with a cutting wheel to grind down any burs left from pulling away the bells.

IMG_20160310_213952.jpg

I tested the fit by pushing the hose on the top, plugging the bottom with my finger, then sucking on the hose. They are definitely sealed.

Next, I reattached the fitting to the block, then reattached the t-case and transmission breather lines to the fittings. From under the hood I was able to attache the ARB lines to each of the metal hoses now that the bells were removed.

IMG_20160310_215655.jpg
From underneath, you can see the fitting with the two ARB hoses attached at the top.

The last one to do was the front diff. I was getting dangerously close to running out of the supplied hose by this point. I found the factory breather on the front passengerside frame rail. I followed it down and it attache to a metal line, which was bracketed to the diff, then another rubber line from the metal line to a barb fitting right on top of the diff. I decided to maintain the metal line and only removed the 1' piece of rubber tubing from the metal line to the frame rail. I then replaced it with the ARB line, ran it back towards and then along the firewall.

I ended up only needing to use 2 zip ties and they were both for the front diff line.

IMG_20160310_224629 (1).jpg

It turned out well. It was harder than I expected, but worth it in the end. I do wish the lines were a bit softer rubber, but I think its purposely not soft rubber to prevent kinking.

Hope this helps if anyone decides to put this kit on. The kit had everything I needed to do the install parts-wise.

Got my outpost off road opor sliders via freight yesterday! I got them late in the afternoon, but thankfully for daylight savings, I was able to get them cleaned, painted, and mounted before bed time.

Arriving in the truck. Guy had no idea what they were.
IMG_20160314_142909.jpg

I immediately unpackaged them and threw them up on some sawhorses. Thanks to @alia176 for that idea.

IMG_20160314_144652.jpg

All cleaned up and ready for some paint. I went with VHT Epoxy paint as I've used it before on custom built racks and when I put an 8.8 in my heep and always had awesome results.

IMG_20160314_170759.jpg

All painted! I let them bake in what was left of the sun for a few hours then moved them into the garage and mounted them later that evening.

I have to say, overall I would give them a 7 or maybe an 8 out of 10. My biggest peeve was that I had to remove the covers for my AHC accumulators. I also had to cut small bits out of the rear most "skid" plate. I probably would have been okay with that if it was something I was told up front before. Also, not having any directions whatsoever made it more difficult to decide if it was made wrong, or they expected me to make those modifications.

I like them though, they seem very stout and I hope to get to put them to good use.

Hopefully I can get a better photo soon.

What inch size diameter does the 295/75/16 work out to?

The 295/70/18 is listed as around 34.3"
So these 34.4" tires fit without any lift or modifications? I'm not sure if I missed it but did you ever measure actual height of the tires versus advertised height? This may come across as if I'm disagreeing with what you say but in reality just trying to get info.

I just bought an 04 and trying to find out what fits and doesn't fit.

Never measured but the tire says 34 11.50 R18 on the sidewall. They fit perfectly. If they were any bigger, they would rub. I've had them fully stuffed and had 0 rubbing.

I think other brands of the same tire are slightly larger as people say the nitto Terra and mud grapplers rub.

I feel like these tires were made for the LC. The fit is so perfect.

Thanks for the info. How's the ride quality after the tires compared to stock? I really want to go as big as I can but don't want to loose the smooth ride of the vehicle.

It's definitely a more firm ride. I adjust my dampening on the AHC one notch closer to "comfort" than when I had stock tires. It's really not a huge difference though.

I love the smoothness of my LX and the tires definitely didn't ruin it.
