Hey all,

Re-sealing the rain gutters on my 60 series this weekend. I've already used a heat gun/chisel/picks to get the old sealant out, and coated the gutters with primer and paint. I tried unsucessfully to use 3M 5200 on them but it turned into a goopy mess, so I'm starting over.

I was looking at the 3M self-leveling sealant stuff that requires a special gun, but I also found this stuff, thinking I'd like to try it out: E6000 Industrial Adhesive - E6000 - Products

It says it doesn't like UV rays, but the 60 is going in for new paint in a few months here anyways. If the E6000 works out it's quite a price difference... $8 a tube vs. + $50

Anyone have any experience using it? How's it age?

Just in case anyone stumbles on this post:

I gave the E6000 product a fair shot, applied with a caulking gun in the shade. The stuff applied and leveled out great on the horizontal gutters, but was quite a headache on the downspouts by the windshield. It would run down too quick in some spots and not enough on others, resulting in goopy mess. I figured I might give 5200 a try again here. After the E6000 product dried overnight, it bubbled up in several spots and formed craters in the dried sealant. :bang: I'm going to grab the heat gun, rip it out and start over.

Long story short, I should have just used the 3M body sealer!

Yeah, self-leveling anything is a mess unless it is fully contained.

I used the 3M controlled flow seam sealer 3M™ Controlled-Flow Seam Sealer | 3M United States
It worked great on both the level and more vertical pieces of the gutter on the A-pillars. My only advice is to not do it while its hot. It sets fast and is hard to work with when its hot. I made that large mistake. Other than that the stuff is great. A nice compromise between a full self-leveling seam sealer and a regular seam sealer.

I got some from the rv dealer.. worked amazing. Green tube.
