Slight change of plans for tehi weekend

Guys -

I forgot that I had already made plans to attend the Ham Fest in Columbia, MD on Sunday, so I will be working on the raffle truck on Saturday instead. My plans are to clean-up the patch welds on the windshield frame and put at least one skim coat of glazing on the patch to smooth things over.

Things that need to be done are:

- install door hinge bushings, but hold off on installing passenger door until Ed finishes the wiper wiring
- install the tire carrier latch hook (parts are in a box in the back of the truck)
- find and install the tire carrier cradle/bracket
- install the 2 remaining shocks (Stump has a bushing, washers and castle nuts)
- install the air cleaner (Bart is cleaning up the air cleaner, the seals will be in the back of the truck)
- install the passenger seat (Stump is cleaning up the seat bracket)
- install the seat belts
- measure the exhaust pipe and muffler assembly we have and assess what is needed to complete the exhaust (flange, hangers, etc).
- find and install a windshield (I have the new OEM gasket and tools to do this)

Let me know if anyone else plans to work on the truck this weekend.

Thanks,

Jon

Dr. Ed got the wiper circuit working. I picked up a few key parts and will finish some bolt-on work on Sunday afternoon starting around 3pm. I'll try to get the wiper mechanism installed (have to fold down the windshield frame) and might take the frame off to make it easier to put the windshield in and to do the touch up painting (still haven't gotten the paint yet).

We need a battery. The one in the truck now has some very interesting emulsions emanating from various points of the case. It has lost its charge, and I doubt it will hold one if we try to juice it up. Anyone have a spare lying around underfoot in their garage?

Okay, today I got the seat belts, the rear axle bump stop, and tire carrier latch installed. I also drilled out the broken bolt and tapped the hole for the tire carrier cradle. Now all we need is to find the missing cradle.

I installed the windshield wiper mechanism and removed the windshield frame (had to drill out one screw). I'm hoping to get it fitted for glass and do some paint touch-up this week sometime.

Things we still need?
- 12v battery (the one we have is kaput and oozing nastiness)
- Wheel to mount the spare tire we have
- Full set of lug nuts (acorn style with the tapered seat)

What still needs to be done, hopefully by the end of next weekend?
- Install two remaining shocks (Stump is providing the missing bushing and fasteners)
- Install remaining passenger seat bracket and seat (Bart is cleaning and painting the bracket)
- Install the air cleaner housing and filter (Bart is cleaning and painting the housing)
- Install the OEM console (also waiting on the passenger seat bracket)
- Reinstall the windshield frame (after I get a windshield installed)
- Install the wiper blades, motor and cover
- Install a new battery
- Trim cut, hang, and weld-in the exhaust

Guys, we are really close!

Jon,

I have a white wagon wheel in good condition if that will work. It's 15x8 with whatever backspacing is required for discs. I can probably find 6 lug nuts but they may not be pretty.

So is it looking like you still wanna get the raffle truck to the fall crawl? Let me know what your thinking.

Yes, but....it's looking more and more like we will not have a windshield in place. When did you want to pick it up?

We'll take it! Thanks!

We'll take it, thanks Bob! Also the lug nuts. We have a total of 12 so far, your six will give us 18...we'll get there eventually.

I have probably15-20 of this style.
Like everything I have they are not pretty. But they will hold a tire on for a couple of miles.!

Please bring them. Whatever we are missing, we'll "borrow" from some generous but unsuspecting sole.

That's great Stump! Thanks!
