I was crippled by a pinched sciatic nerve and Jeff is still recovering from knee surgery so we didn't get the exhaust wrestled into place for fitment. But that isn't needed for the swap meet.
Remaining tasks are as follows - Green tasks are easy, blue requires some experience and skill, red requires advanced skills:
- Install front driver side shock (all necessary parts are in the truck) :15
- Install remaining wheel lug nuts (donated lug nuts are in the dash pocket) :15
- Install side steps (I purchased the necessary nuts and bolts, they are in the dash pocket) :60
- Install passenger door (hinge pins and hinge are in the dash pocket) :15
- Adjust driver door (needs adjustment so it closes properly, all hardware is there) :15
- Hook-up fuel solenoid (need to fabricate the harness, Ed needs to be involved) :30
- Route and install vacuum hoses (I purchased a length of tubing, it's in the dash pocket; the '77 emission diagram will be needed) :60
- Install remaining dash switches and hook-up the instrument cluster (Ed needs to be involved) :90
- Install wiper motor cover (I purchased the necessary bolts, they are in the dash pocket) :05
- Install the air filter housing (all necessary hardware is in the dash pocket) :10
- Purchase and install a tachometer :30
- Weld a flange to the down pipe and fit and install the exhaust (we need a flange and possibly some short pipe and some hangers) :60
- Install the spare tire on the wheel and hang it on the tire carrier :15
- Install roll bar pads :30
- Clean out the truck, armor-all the vinyl :60
- Wash and polish the truck :120
There are probably other things I have forgotten, but this should be pretty close to finishing it off.
I can help early AM this coming Sunday, say 0800. I recon that I can do most of the green and blue items in a few hours. I'll bring some prybars and soap to mount the spare tire on the rim. Is there a compressor on site to set the tire beads? If not I can drag mine out, but it'd be a bit of a PITA. A CO2 bottle would be cool if anyone wants to bring it with.
Remaining tasks are as follows - Green tasks are easy, blue requires some experience and skill, red requires advanced skills:
- Install front driver side shock (all necessary parts are in the truck)
Most of the parts are there. Missing bushing washers qty3. Shock remains uninstalled
- Install remaining wheel lug nuts (donated lug nuts are in the dash pocket)
Lug nuts threaded on studs, but ONLY HANDTIGHT.
- Install side steps (I purchased the necessary nuts and bolts, they are in the dash pocket)
Steps bolted onto the body and fender, but missing the bolts that connect the step bracket to the step.
- Install passenger door (hinge pins and hinge are in the dash pocket)
Passenger door installed and both doors adjusted to open and close while striker engages.
- Adjust driver door (needs adjustment so it closes properly, all hardware is there)
See above
- Hook-up fuel solenoid (need to fabricate the harness, Ed needs to be involved)
- Route and install vacuum hoses (I purchased a length of tubing, it's in the dash pocket; the '77 emission diagram will be needed)
- Install remaining dash switches and hook-up the instrument cluster (Ed needs to be involved)
- Install wiper motor cover (I purchased the necessary bolts, they are in the dash pocket)
Appears to have already been done
- Install the air filter housing (all necessary hardware is in the dash pocket)
We're missing the hardware. I believe they are M8 bolts and we need Fender Washers to go with them. The holes on the filter side are HUGE. I found a mix match to at least get the housing somewhat bolted on there for now. We're also missing the plastic/rubber bushings that are sandwiched in between the top cover and the wingnuts to prevent intake leak bypassing the filter.
- Purchase and install a tachometer
- Weld a flange to the down pipe and fit and install the exhaust (we need a flange and possibly some short pipe and some hangers)
- Install the spare tire on the wheel and hang it on the tire carrier
Could not start this task. We appear to be lacking a properly sized spare rim. The White wagon Wheel I saw is wider than the tire. We should have two full sets of fj60/62 chrome rims. Is there another narrower rim available?
- Install roll bar pads
Mostly done, could not find the passenger side rear pad.
- Clean out the truck, armor-all the vinyl
- Wash and polish the truck
There are probably other things I have forgotten, but this should be pretty close to finishing it off.
There is a 2nd wire (green) that is paired with the engine coolant temp sensor between the carb and the valve cover, could it be the idle cutoff power wire?
