Does anyone happen to know the size (Inner Diameter) of the short rubber hose that connects the hard filler hose to the gas tank. Also the size of the breather hose connector would help too. I am not by my truck and I need to order some hose. Thank you.

James

I have found out it is either 1 5/8, or 1 7/8 ID. I have read threads stating both. The breather is either 5/8 or 7/8. Again, conflicting results. Guess Ill have to get my truck back to see.

Mate, there is no way it would be that big - that's almost 2in ID - is if for your 80s or a fighter jet?

Off the top of my head, it is closer to 5/16 return line and 3/8 supply line. Definitely not bigger, that's for sure, as I'm considering making the supply line 1/2 in all the way with a bigger ID return line too. Don't forget, you'll need special EFI fuel hose for the supply line, and can use normal fuel hose for the return line. The EFI hose is designed to handle the high pressure supply of the fuel injection system. Usually costs a bit more, too.

Guzzla, the OP is talking about the lines from the FILLER TO THE TANK, not from engine to tank.

From my subtank writeup when installing the dual neck filler:
The hose diameter for the fuel outlets is 1 5/8" (ID) and the breather inlets is 1/2" (ID)

I'm guessing the original lines may have been metric - cdan/beno etc would know the specifics.

cheers,
george.

Im not sure you and I are taking about the same lines. I am talking about the hose that connects the filler neck hose, and breather hose to the gas tank. I dont think you could fit a gas pump nozzle into a 3/8 hose.
