I've been with a couple people that have done it....in fact, I think BMAN was there that day too. (same day we ran Axle Alley with Sean, Eban, and the black TJ).

BWWWAAHAAHHAAHHHAAAAAA! Or turns his axle under the truck, or realizes he needs to tighten the trackbar nuts, or realizes he needs to tighten the upper control arm jamb nuts, or realizes he needs to tighten the lower control arm jamb nuts, or realizes he needs to tighten the shock mount nuts, or realizes he needs to tighten the diffcover nuts, or realizes he needs to tighten any one of a number of random nuts that seem to loosen themselves so inconveniently throught any give day of wheeling.

How long is that fresh 350 and fresh tranny going to take up the whole garage?? By the time that drivetrain goes in your 60, it's going to BE 60 ;p

Having all that stuff loose is what keeps the suspension flexible....a word not in your 40's dictionary. :)

Twister?
??

actually i think its called twisted, its a table mesa trail, real narrow canyon, so narrow in fact the mini trucks i used to wheel with were sidewalling the tires and about 4-5 ft off the ground on the canyone walls, really cool little trail.

Clay, do you remember if Eric ran his Trials bike thru that part?

he said he ran through it on the way in when he was scouting ahead of us, but decided to take the bypass on the return.

I'm back. Thanks for responses. No snips needed. The Lexus is my new dedicated trail rig so brush isn't important. The '93 runs it's last run next weekend then it's retired, detailed and handed over to my older son.

Looks like the Florence area will be the place. Terminator trails are a little too far from Tucson. I'll keep reading suggestions and we'll get something planned when the truck is done. J

How is it progressing? Any word on the date?

Thanks for asking Kev. I do now. I get my adjusters on Thursday. Vibration ends then and the truck is in working order. I get lockers and 4.88's starting Saturday so it'll be done mid-next-week. Then, it's ready though not done. It'll be done when the black paint is detroyed and it gets repainted white or silver. :D

As far as trails for the inaugural run?

I'm not sure I'm wired for a Woodpecker or Ajax (yet?). I ran Martinez yesterday with 6 others and passed AGAIN on Yellow Belly Ledge. I know I was concerned some about damage as it was the last trip before handing it to my son. That's an excuse though I think. 2 other 80's did it and EASILY. I've done things harder in the '93 before but I've passed twice now at this spot. I have a feeling I'll do the same on Wood or Ajax.

Stay tuned please while I analyze the size of......nevermind. :D

John,

No worries on Upper Woodpecker. There is no spot on this trail that you can't bypass. You can be as hardore as you want or the complete opposite. You shouldn't stress about it. All ya gotta do is show up and drive. We'll get ya through there with no problems.

WOW! How could I not be comfortable with that? :)

That's kinda the point. This trail can scare ya if you're not preparred. Your truck is more than capable enough to run this trail and you've got plenty of seat time to be able to perform here competently. John (offroader5), Goodtimes, and myself have all been on this trail an uncountable amount of times. I am confident that any one of us could lead you through there almost with our eyes closed. Again, listening to your spotter here will keep you out of trouble.

I will be leading the Saturday run on Upper Woodpecker during the TTORA AZ Rocks event in March. I led the same run in '03 with 10 or so stockish Tacoma's and had ZERO incidents. Just show up... we'll help ya do the rest.

That is the thing with me. I am a capable driver. Hell, to do what I've done in both Cruisers and without damage...I'm a confident driver. My weakness is I psyc myself out BEFORE I get there. I was panicing all Saturday AM of the Martinez switchbacks cuz drops freak me. This time when we finally got there they didn't even bother me.

Next up...this trip we're talking about.....and I'm already psyc'ing myself out before the trucks even ready. See?

Quit doin that crap and hell, before ya know it you'll be leavin the snippers at home and start wheelin like a real man. :flipoff2:

which obstacle is that? Is that the one on the middle picture? http://coloradok5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124050 (to justify posting this on an LC board, please notice the vehicle in the background in the bottom pic :grinpimp:)

needless to say, I didn't do that ledge in the FJ40, either :flipoff2:

That's it. Here's a shot from Sat below. And then a link my buddy's FJ40 who rolled there BUT WAS SAVED by his spare tire.

There was NO reason for me to chicken out on that. Heck, my 100 could climb it OPEN with TRAC! I know it and passed. PooPoo!
