purpose of tps on manual 1hd ft?

As title really, what function does the throttle position sensor have on a manual 1hdft?
im at the, thinking in the bath stage of removing unnecessary engine ancillaries. Egr valves and vacuum lines, emissions ecu, etc etc..

I have no idea about the tps, but I'm eager to eventually rid myself of all the extra bits as well. I removed the egr valves and pipe, that's an easy one, but the bacs/sics/acsd thing and the other stuff still attached to my injection pump and vacuum liners confuses the crap out of me.

I guess that means I'm subscribed and will be paying attention.

Don't understand while a manual cruiser has TPS? Cummins only has the TPS on automatics.

I believe it's only used for the EGR. I removed it on mine with the EGR and ECU all together. Do a search on here about the SICS and BACS systems on the pump. I put vacuum on the SICS all the time and nothing on the BACS, but i live on sealevel, a little below actually, and we don't have hills or mountains over here.

on our 1HD-FT the TPS is used by the cruise control and for the EGR valves (he gives to the ecu the information), I 'm also searching information about deleting SICS and BACS on my european version, My EGR is out. thank's

Yes. I fitted the 1HDT cruise control into my HZJ80 with the 1HZ. The cruise computer just gets a digital speed signal to figure out if you're above/below the set speed, and looks for triggers from the brake light/clutch pedal to know if it should turn off. So my 80 series doesn't have cruise control. I find it mildly annoying, as I do a lot of long drives, and I appreciate being able to regulate my speed on the motorways with a flick of my finger, and give my foot a rest. Most 80's here in Australia didn't have cruise control however, and models...

Not sure on the purpose of TPS on the 1HDT, I'd have to check diagrams, but you don't need it for cruise control.
