Purchasing Question: Am I out of my mind?

Recognizing that Land Cruiser prices are absurd these days, I find myself entertaining the purchase of a 1-owner, 2006 no rust example with 93K miles on the clock for $28K.

Service history is limited and the TB, water pump, radiator has never been changed from what I can tell. Is this a reasonable price for a low mileage example or is my money better put elsewhere?

I think that's a good deal as of Jan 2022. Whether or not that's a good place to put your money is a separate question. All used cars are nuts right now.

200 series with <100k miles no rust, 1 owner would cost at least twice as much 😂
I didn’t say anything about mileage or ownership. Plenty of good early 200 series (08-12) with <200k miles for less than or close to OP’s price for this mystical 100. I’d be very wary of any 100 series with <150k miles on the clock, and also prepared to dump as much money into replacing hoses, plastic, etc as I would with a 100 that has 300k miles. Age matters and many parts on the 100 likely will need replaced regardless of mileage.

In this market in my area, it would be prob. sold the day it was listed at that price. It is more than they used to be but amortized over the life of the vehicle it really isn't that much at all.

Low mileage in these trucks is over rated. Unless you plan on keeping it a low-mile showcar/investment, but where's the fun in that.
Buy one based on condition and price, not mileage. Honestly, I rather have a 300k mile one that has been basically restored, than a 94K mile unknown.

It's absurd that LC/LX have been in huge demand in Cali in recent years. Aside from those of us on MUD, most owners never needed to use the 4Lo/ATRAC/BFG KO2 on their LC/LX, but still have to pay $5/gallon for the gas hog 😂 😂

Doesn't sound like too bad of a deal to me. I just paid almost $31k for a Limited LX470 with 107k. It is what it is.

What is a “Limited Lx470”???

Thanks all -- sound advice. Part of this is the car is also non-nav. Part of me think that's worth a premium, while the other part thinks I should be perfectly content with an '03 LX470 I picked up early last year with 122K miles!

Has a bit of special chrome trim, onyx black exterior with stone (grayish) interior, chrome exhaust, special mats, only 400 were made in 2007.
that sounds awesome, can you post a pic?

Is the vehicle from somewhere other than the NorthEast? Hard to imagine it is 'rust free' but maybe so.

Its from Puerto Rico

Some LC's from '03 through '11 came factory equipped with the non-nav radio. Usually no rust unless folks live very close to the coast.

Documented service histories are hard to come by.

Non-nav is pretty cool. I wish mine was, but I wouldn't be driving it now if it cost me $28K. Just glad I bought a few years ago at the bottom of the depreciation curve.

Here's one that was sold here:

I love everything about this except the chrome door handles.

That's the one. It's the wife's daily driver.....cut me some slack with the chrome handles!!!!
