hey all, I’m usually on the 120 forum as I have 2 470’s....I’m looking to trade one in for a 460 and am wondering what things to watch out for. The one I’m looking at is 2013 Premium with 118k miles. Full Lexus maintained with records, drivers.lexus checks out too. They’re asking $22k. Seem a little high for the mileage but these run forever right?

Yeah I've been window shopping 10-13' 460s nationwide, and I've seen some with 40-60k for 23-24k, they go quick and could be in AZ, and I'm in VA, but still. With that amount of miles I'd expect a better deal, still solid truck though no doubt.

Thanks. They seem hard to find at a fair price here in Colorado. Guy with a ‘13 with 58k wants $33k....
I went and test drove the 118k for $22. It’s a nice truck. The white leather is still white, still has the headphones and remote for rear entertainment. Steering wheel and seats show no wear. Seems like they were highway miles. I floored it to 65 and it was solid. I walked away without buying it but I am still considering it. Truth be told my ‘07 470 only has 80k on it so it is a little weird to buy newer with higher mileage but from what I’ve seen locally the price is “ok”.

I recently picked up a '10 Base with 128k for just under 18k, all dealer records, so that actually doesn't seem that off for the market.
Mine already had the airbag recall done, not sure if that is an issue on a 2013 as well? Otherwise just look for regular fluid changes and the plugs should have been done around 100k or so.

I used Used Lexus GX For Sale - CarGurus
to find my 2013 GX 460 Premium. I purchased it from a Lexus dealership in May 2018 with 38,000 miles for $32,000. It was super clean.
Cargurus is pretty cool in that it tells you what level of a "good" deal or not the price is.
Also, if you're planning on building with steel bumpers, stay with 2010 through 2013. I don't think there are any steel bumpers for anything newer. Not at least that I was able to find as of this writing.

Good luck!

You sound more like what I’ve been finding. I ended up going with Carmax. I’m in Colorado the car is from Beverly Hills. 2012 premium with 65k miles for $26. It’s on its way. I’ve kept looking and I’m pretty confident I found a good one

i picked up my '13 base with 82,000 miles in Dallas at a Lexus dealer for $24K. I shopped for a few months and drove 10hrs to get it. found it on CARS.COM

Congrat's on your new baby!! I love my 2013 premium!!
What are you going to do to it now!!! Tires, suspension, bumpers, or???? :bounce::clap::clap:

Yes. lol

I've got tires and some misc parts sitting around I've collected. skids and sliders are decided, just need to order and I'm waiting till after the bills of the holidays settle down to pick up some fancy suspension components and decide on front and rear bumpers. I've been drooling over your thread, and the builds of @TX GX460 and @jabhb and @HitchCrack as well. in fact, based of what i saw and wanted, i had bought some parts before i got the truck lol.

I am a 100 owner and the wife and I are going to look at a 2016 GX premium with F sport package and a 2017 4Runner limited for her. Both are at the same Lexus dealership and the asking price is $40998. The GX has 36k and the 4Runner has 3k. What do you guys think about the price?

For your front slider, talk to Eric Hansen (owner) at YotaMasters, here in California: Yotamasters - Quality parts and service
I accidentally ordered two front sliders for my rig and told Eric to sell the one that wasn't used and just send me the money. He should give you a deal on it. Let me know and I can talk to him.

I purchased my 2013 GX 460 Premium with 38,000 miles about mid 2018 (last year) for $32,000. I've considered that a really good price.
Although, a GX with that low of miles, being 5 years old is an anomaly.
So getting a 3 year newer GX with only 36,000 miles sounds fair. (12k/year)
I believe average mileage for a vehicle is rated at 12,000 miles/year.
Except California, I think they rate that at 15,000 miles/year.

What's Kelly Blue Book say?

What are some common problems to look for on this platform? I have a 2015 GX 460 luxury with Mark Levinson and rear entertainment on hold for the wife. I checked the Lexus Owner’s site and it’s a one owner from Florida with Lexus maintenance records. It has 57k and the price is $36,900. Thanks

What is your reasoning for moving on from your low mileage 470 to a 460 platform? I own a 470 but am curious about the 150 platform.

I've heard the GX470 gets poorer MPG and the motor (4.7) is not quite as strong as our 460's.
There's probably other niceties that were added to the 460 like newer electronics, multiple climate zones, etc.

I was going to keep the low mileage ‘07 and sell the ‘04 with 175k on it. After all was said and done I decided all I really wanted from the 460 was AC in the seats and the heated steering wheel ( I do like the KDSS too extra power and towing capacity never hurts either). The trade in and buy offers were flat out offensive to be honest.
I love the 470, have nothing bad to say about the 460 and someday may get one but keeping the 470 for now.

The 16 you noted earlier still has factory warranty which is a big plus, but the price is a little high since you’ll be paying dealer fees ($700 to $900) + on top of that price. If its a non rustbelt vehicle it might be worth negotiating if its the right color and condition for you.

The 15 is a better value and its a Lux, but 48month 50k warranty is done and your left with powertrain to 70k. I would be scared off by 56k miles. Lux equipped models can sell $3-5k over premiums: the upshot: its got KDSS, AVS, Ride hight control(rear air) and Levenson audio and better leather.

For reference earlier this month we picked up a grey 16 Lux with 39k miles with the drivers package ( dynm. radar, lane departure, levenson audio etc for $35.5(not including tax) no accidents and surprisingly clean. The only downside is it will need tires in 5k.

So if youre not in a hurry be patient you’ll find a deal.

We bought the 2015. I couldn’t make them come down on the price but we got high trade in value on a Volvo XC90 that needed about 2k in service.
