What he said plus you might not realize it but Toyotas And LX’s are self healing vehicles yours might’ve healed itself. I hopeOP, I assume you cleaned the housing area? Clean around the area where the oil could of trickled or follow the seam from. Clean the skid thoroughly as well. Check the oil level and keep an eye on it. If the drip or oil pooling comes back take it back to Toyota. The next step for them would most likely be UV dye added to your oil to track the leak.
I wish that would have been the case. I did clean it up originally and after a few days, it was visibly weeping again. What he said plus you might not realize it but Toyotas And LX’s are self healing vehicles yours might’ve healed itself. I hope
I have been in the garages several times in my old IS-F and before buying my Landcruiser so don't let them tell you it's not allowed. They can escort you out to look at everything, but they may not let you be out there the whole time, especially if they're busy and have vehicles coming and going.Ok all, just providing an update on this. Returned from some vacation and Spring Break time with family in OK, goal is to get the Cruiser into another shop this week (probably tomorrow). I took some more pics and will ask/insist I'm part of of the review once they pull it in to look at.
Here's a pic I took today...
Corporate did call but I could tell it just seemed like someone cycling through cases. He was genuine though and asked that I try another dealer for a “second opinion” to which I said I would do.I have been in the garages several times in my old IS-F and before buying my Landcruiser so don't let them tell you it's not allowed. Good luck with your visit and the issue. Did corporate ever get back to you?
Good news...new dealership agreed that there is a leak! They said they had looked into it (also took pics and sent to Corporate for analysis) and it is the rear main seal that is leaking. The rear main seal, however, is on backorder but they are expediting one in with a goal to have everything buttoned up by end of week.
Toyota Grapevine (right off 114) confirmed the problem and great to work with...would use again!Care to fill us in on which dealer? I'm local in DFW and like to keep track of such things if I ever need "dealer" service/warranty work done.
Great ideas...once I get it back with the findings and all the paperwork, I’ll post everything.Might be worth a PSA on this forum to let other new owners know to pay attention for leaks. There aren't many ' 18/19 owners on here.. for two to have this problem already suggests a pretty high rate.
Also IIRC the engine has to come out to pull the upper pan.. when you get it back pay special attention to things like coolant hose leaks, harnesses not being clipped into appropriate spots, etc.
Glad they found the problem though..
