Worked on the dash panel all day today. I am thinking about painting it body color but grained and anodized is an option. The gauges turned out cool and below them there will be the 80 series idiot lights and shift indicator lights. The 2 things in the center are AC vents, switches to either side. I am not sure what to do about the glove box side yet. It was going to be a GPS, but it will have to wait. I have been $500 to death all ready on this project.

Since it's your money. I vote for machine turned an anodized.:D

I have powdercoated a couple of things like that with an "anodized" powder. It looks pretty darn cool.

We use a process called fusion coating that gives bright color like anodizing but is UV stable like powder coating. I just dont know about that look. I think I will have it grained/ engraved first, then look at it. If I go deep enough on the engraving, I can still coat it and back fill the engraving. The engraving by the way is for AC controls and LED labels. I have a friend that does engraving and graning for the aviation industry that likes my little BS projects, so I might let him chose.

So Gary called me today from the paint shop, wanted to verify the color Code for Antique Sage Pearl. I posted a quickie to the 80s list and we came up with it. Called him back, verified it, now just waiting on pics.

Weren't never much doubt this here project would turn out sweet ... but I gotta ask one question sir ...

Who the hell picked out that carpet in the pics with them friggin' palm trees on it?

Carry on. :flipoff2:

OK, back to work. Today I got the radiator mounted, and mostly plumbed. I will need to get a piece of tubing bent tomorrow for the rear hose(what used to be the upper) and it will be finished. I am hoping to get the wiring harness the rest of the way on the engine, plug everything in and start it by the weekend. I know it runs, just want to check for leaks. I ordered a overflow tank to go up front in the engine compartment mostly for air bleeding/burping, but also to catch any overflow since I have no idea how this is all going to work. The 80 shroud is back off to get the 19" Crown Vic electric fan installed into it. For now I will activate it on ign power, but after I see how things work, I hope to run it thermostatically. Heres todays progress.
