Georg,
Step it up would ya! Your list seems to be huge! Why does that not suprise me..

Sent out some junk today to Gene directly. Hope I can do more soon. Guessing things will turn up that folks are not focused on and thus I can add to the list. My things are more functional than required but Gene will be all the better with one of them...

You guys are incredible out there. Keep it up!

hey goebs.
how's it going? thanks for the props. the front axle should be done tomorrow. yup, greenfox and myself will be at the shop tomorrow to get the axles mostly done. on sunday i'm driving up to grants pass OR to meet with bull. we're going to exchange some parts there and drive straight back home. some of the stuff i'm getting from rod are the tires and rims as well as the rear disc brake parts. so by tuesday evening the rear axle ought to be done as well.
i did get the drivelines back from the local drive line shop today so those are done as well.
just gotta make sure i make a list and check it twice.

Mark,

I have some canadien 1 ton rear springs with factory overloads.I will gladly donate to the project if someone can pick them up in the bay area.

Whitey

IF those are from a 45, we'd love to have them. Thanks Brian.

if they can find their way to stockton then i can bring em down there with me. good thing i'm towing the trailer down there cause we're filling up with parts fast...........

Georg,

Liz and Kevin are coming down for the 4th,I'll see if they can bring them up to stockton.....Mark they are from a 77 fj45 which will fit the lv,or just use the main leaf..

Gene,
As Mark A and Georg know, I have a automotive shop in the Upland area about 45 mins from Marks shop and even though I'm not exclusively Cruisers I have various tools at my Disposal, Plasma cutter, welder, tube bender, torch set, jack stands up to 6 ton etc and being a owner of a LV and a dozen or so other Cruisers I want to extend you a invitation to my tools, parts, and what ever else that I can offer to this re-build.
I have spoken to Georg and Mark A since the beginning of this project and I have expressed my input to them and I will be available that weekend to help any way possible.
My shop is not exclusively Cruisers but, dont be afraid to ask to help or tools, you may be surprised what I can come up with!!
I'm like a Toyota Land Cruiser, Made in Japan, BUT, MADE AMERICAN!!!!
and Proud of it!!!!
They dont call me Wasabi for nothing!!!
I have a spare room or two at my house a hour away or I can bring my Toy Box trailer for the out of towners if the city allows it and we can party all night.
Mark asked if I could help with the wiring when I spoke to him on Tuesday< If thats were I'm needed, I will be there.
Georg and Mark A know how to get a hold of me during the day or you can send me a PM Gene and we can figure out how I can help you in the best way possible.:bounce::bounce:

works for me. lizzie left me a voice mail the other day but i don't have her cell # so please have her call me again. i would'nt mind seeing their cruiser.

I could have done that for you last weekend while I was making my Emergency Fire Department delivery. I was in Medford.

On sunday i'm driving up to grants pass OR to meet with bull. we're going to exchange some parts there and drive straight back home. some of the stuff i'm getting from rod are the tires and rims as well as the rear disc brake parts.

At least I called you and asked if you needed anything Mudshipped before my trip. Now I don't feel so bad.

no worries bud, i have to bring some stuff up there as well as bring things back home. on top of that, last weekend would'nt have worked for rod since he has to drive down from seattle to meet me and he had other things going on......

but thanks again for the offer. you know i appreciate it!

short update. greenfox and i have been working o nthe axles. ryan got the rear all done except for the disc brake parts. housing was hot tanked, wire wheeld and painted. diff is back in, new wheel bearings and axle seals, shafts are back in and cover is on.
the front housing got the same treatment. third member is back in. we might try to get it partially built tomorrow and finish it on monday. all the disc brake outers have been hot tanked, bead blasted and painted so they're ready to install..........

Talked to John ( living in the past ) chances are he will crash here friday night and we will all leave saturday morning for Burbank

How many brand new Cruiser parts can you find in this picture?

I went to SOR yesterday and Marv let me make all those rusty LV parts new again with his bead blaster. Spent the day today painting them and started sanding down the dash. Pulling the motor and steering tomorrow with Mark, dropping it off at his shop, and finishing the dash and interior firewall.

Thats the coolest wind chime I have ever seen !! i bet you could sit in there and listen to it for hours

You know Rob, I was thinking the same thing when I was looking at it.

Mark came over today for about 10 hours. We swapped the 2F from the old LV to the new one along with the steering, worked on making the tunnel cover from the first fit into the second, and a few other small things.

After Marv sold the green LV to me, he told me that someone had been murdered in it years earlier. Today when Mark had the tunnel cover over my anvil and was beating it back into original shape, two bondo plugs popped out exposing two bullet holes in it.

Update;

1.[030 The engine has been transferred from the old LV to the new one. Rather than risk me stubbing my sandaled feet on it hanging around the shop for a week [not to mention loading and unloading it from the bed of my 45] we decided to just transport it in the LV and pull it back out first thing Saturday. Funny how a Landcruiser could be such a convenient place to store a landcruiser motor!:p

2.[120] I successfully disassembled the steering out of both rigs and transplanted all of Gene's rebuilt components into the new LV. Didn't see any signs of damage in any of the linkages.

3.[[154] Came up with a gaime plan for dealing with the floorboard issues. Won't need as much sheet as I originally thought. If colangut comes thru with the .23 wire and roller, we should be able to make the necessary repairs in a half day. Some other fab for the seat and seatbelts will be in order, but I have some ideas for that as well that shouldn't be too big of a deal. Anyone have some 1.5" angle iron?

4.[055] With the engine provisionally in the new LV, it should be easier to map out the new exhaust system. I'll give Gene the new header on Monday. Once the rest of the pipe is hanging from bailing wire, we can figure out what needs to go between. Hopefully dhondagod still has access to his muffler pipe machine.:D

5.[141] While I was cleaning up the front yard to make room for the LV yesteday, I found the axle junctions I was asking around for, so those are now covered. Calico..........NOT A WORD!:flipoff2:

6.[130] If anyone has a pair of usable length shocks for the rear, pipe up. Gene measured static length [with no load in the rig] at 24.5". Figure a good inch less with a load, and we'd be looking for something that was in the middle of it's usable range at 23.5".

7. Found a really cool PAIR of.....BULLET HOLES in the trans tunnel cover. Gene got a few pics before I beat all the bends out of the cover in preparation for some welding.
