Eric, I just want to say a HUGE "Thank You" again. I'm having a blast working on this LV. There's something very rewarding about making a very old thing new again. Not that I've gotten to the "new" part yet, but I'm getting there. I hope to make you proud of this LV when it's done.

Thanks again to the rest of you also. I deeply appreciate what all of you are doing, and having the opportunity to drive a LV again.

Today I pulled the last couple things from the dash, the wiper motor, cowl vent hardware, and wiring harness. Also pulled the seat frames off the cushions. Tomorrow I reorganize the garage, and Wednesday I'm starting on the body. More pics by the end of the week.

WOW!:bounce::bounce2::bounce::clap::):):):clap: I am very impressed that this Cruiser made it from here to Gene's and has already had this much done to it in a VERY short period of time! Seems like just the other day when I asked two members of the Horsetooth Four Wheelers Club to give me a hand :)clap:thanks to Paul Dangler and Bill Melvin:clap:) to drag it from it's resting place. Makes me very happy to see it coming alive from the Graveyard! Thanks to all that have, and will, pitch in to get Gene back:steer:!

It's been great describing what all of you are doing to my 3 boys and making them a part of all this. My wife has been to tears a couple times after reading some of the posts on the board. They know how much I loved driving and working on my first LV, and know what it means to me to have another to build in the driveway.

As for the new LV, I wish you could have seen the look on their faces when they first walked out and saw it. Especially after they took a look inside. I was busting up. They definately did not have the eyes to see the potential in the vehicle before them. For that matter, neither did any of my neighbors. They all think I'm crazy. I think they'll start to see the light in about a week or two. This whole thing has so many lessons in it for my sons. From the selfless giving from all here on the board, to an new appreciation for hard work and vision as they see the new LV in the driveway start to look more like the one they used to love riding in. It's all really good stuff!
 
Got about an hour in between hauling my boys around tonight to do a little rust removal. Should get a few more hours in by friday night and I'm setting aside about 10 hours on Saturday.

i don't know too many dudes that have two beat-up looking door-less 45LVs sitting in their driveway without their neighbors being up in arms. too funnay!:lol:


keep up the great work bro! the axles are stripped down; the housings are simmering in the hot tank overnight and next week they're getting built. i have already de-greased, hot-tanked, bead-blasted and painted all the replacement disc brake knuckle parts so assembly should go very smoothly.

i'm stoked! :cheers:

( eventhough i'm dealing with some food poisoning due to a lovely sushi lunch with my wife earlier this week ) :eek:

Primed today. Firewall Saturday, frame on Sunday if it goes as well as I hope it does.

I'm just gonna try to get from the front bumper to the front seat done by the 11th. And that doesn't include the front doors.
