Patina got her winter coat of Fluid Film today. It’s amazing I’ve never put a drop of paint on this frame and how black it is after Fluid Film does it’s work. I really love the thin layer the spray rig setup lays down too versus the aerosol cans.

Did you use the water hose in the shop? The floor looks wet. Patina’s underside looks pristine.

Nolan,
I have followed project patina for some time now but have never read through the entire thread.
Coincidentally I decided to read it through this weekend while my family and I were spending a weekend in Ocean Springs filling our souls with a little Mississippi. Eating good food and listened to a few singer/songwriters on the gulf coast translates into a damn good time. Of course the more I read the more I missed “The Iron Yak”
Love the thread. The banter between you and the old guy you bough patina from kinda reminds me of the movie Doc Hollywood when the patient asked the Doc to read the letters from her sister who has a new beau
a “Pakistani”. And it only gets better from there. Love the comraderie, the trash talk, the education and mostly the reminder that we just need to enjoy the ride. Keep up the good work.
Regards
Lance

Thank you kindly for taking the time to type that up. I truly appreciate the kind words.

After a long and lovely rebirth together, it’s come time to share this wonderful story with someone else.

I hope anyone that reads this thread with interest in this fantastic FJ40 gets to this post and sees what a lovely and unique Fj40 Project Patina is.

Nothing has been edited here. No posts changed. All that has been done to this truck can be found in great detail right here.

Please pass the link around to your friends for me. I’m stepping out with a no reserve auction hoping more normal folks will get involved in the bidding for this great one.

Good luck with the sale man. Still my favorite 40 build and just as awesome in person. You’ve poured a lot of time, sweat, and money into it over the past few years.

I was disappointed to hear this when I saw it on Instagram... but after reading this post I admire the way you're passing it on. May the next owner be worthy...

Certainly not just casting this one aside. I just have too many old things around here and I’m obsessive about driving them and keeping them all in top shape. That takes a lot of effort with 7 Cruisers.

I have extra space so you can make my place a satellite parking center for the running truck. Im sure they would all get some seat time.
