I know you too well to advise you to leave it Jon. Make the relief cuts and bend it down - you'll wind up tearing the whole thing down to the frame again in 6 months if you don't ;)

Funny you said this...had already inquired about getting just one side from metal tech :)

Good stuff John!!

Question - how does one go about flipping over a 40 series tub? Is there a secret setup that can be used solo or is it just give away beer and get 5 dudes to help?:beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:

Hint hint...

Three fxxxing days of skim coat/block/feather...repeat! No wonder paint is so expensive...takes forever!!

Should be able to shoot some epoxy tomorrow, then seam sealer, then another coat of epoxy later next week. Hoping to have primer (which will have to be sanded) and final color on this within the next two weeks depending on weather.

Well...we'll see how painting ends up. Based on my experience (close to zero with HVLP guns) the odds aren't in my favor!

I do have an issue of not being able to half ass anything :bang:.

I like the paint booth, painted my CJ7 the same way when I lived in the Keys, only used the stilt house as a ceiling. I covered the ceiling with plastic and dropped 4 plastic walls. I sprayed down the walls and the stone floor just before I painted. Base coat/clear coat. Came out great.

 Nice work. When are you painting?

Shooting for later this week. Have a couple days off and the weather Thursday - Saturday is supposed to be nice.

We all know that no one likes that guy who leaves up is paint booth in the back yard...good thing this one can be dismantled in 10 minutes or less!

That's a really great idea on the paint booth

Seams sealed (top of the tub)! This stuff smooths out decent with a little lacquer thinner on your finger. Sets up fast though so, do a little, smooth, remove tape then move own to another section.

Flipping her in the AM to seal the bottom.

Dang Jon this is going to be good!!

Another day and more seams have been sealed. No need for being a perfectionist on looks for the bottom side.

Assuming they are firm enough tomorrow it'll be another coat of epoxy primer and then raptor liner.

A couple 'custom' body mounts to go with my custom economy rear sill.
