It's fine like it is, but if you have any threads to spare on that rod end, I'd make it longer. Perpendicular shackle at ride height is ideal. Glad your Sunday afternoon was more fun than mine!

 R

Better? This is about as much as I get out of the threads and feel safe. Bars mostly done minus paint...that can wait though.

Next up is second set of rear cage frame tie-ins. Then finish steering linkage from wheel to steering box.

Looks good!

Sigh...seems like I work on this once a year for a couple weeks and then find some shiny object that steals my attention! Maybe I'll stick with it this fall and finish it by spring...

Added overhead bars to the cage and the last two cage to frame tie-ins. I could use a few folks' help one evening to remove the cage and pull the tub. Tub will be easy with the lift. Anyone around Durham that I can bribe to help out? Might take all of 30 minutes??

Jon let me know, if I can shake free I'll give a hand. Be good to catch up

If you back into the lift can you get enough lift on the cage with it and roll the rig out from under the cage? I've not tried it with the lift as I use twin chain hoists to do it.

I did it with the lift once and involved 2x4s ratchet straps and tons of cussing...to only still be very sketchy at best. If the rise in the lift would've been another foot or so then I'd have been good. Good thought though!

Call or text, I'll be there!!!

Nice work Jon!

Looking good! Something about a bare frame with a cage that is so primal, love it :)

Thanks to Johnny's help, got engine pulled last night. Frame goes to media blaster next week!! Next step is clean engine and then start reassembling everything!

CY17 might be the year this gets back on the road :hmm:

Nice "trail rig" :)

Doubt it was yours but passed a bare tub on a flatbed on hwy 68 last week.

Nice "trail rig" :)

Oh I'm sure it'll still be rough around the edges when finished. My patience has already expired but was put to better use on what's been done so far vs body work!

Honestly this has taken way too fxxxing long by no fault other than my own...no more changes to the plan from here on out. Goal is to finish, then I can redo it if I choose.
