Got the floor pan patch trimmed and fit this week (quite tedious). Got it tack welded in this weekend.

Final fit.

I just read this whole thread in one sitting. All I can say is WOW!

Elyse,

When you complete the movie, you should submit it to the annual film festival we have here in Winston Salem, NC. http://2012.riverrunfilm.com/
It would give you a good excuse to show off Moviestar to some East Coast fans.

Thank you - I will!

Getting ready to undercoat the body shell, I was putting on seam-sealer, and realized that the gas tank, fuel lines and a few misc things had to go back on the shell before it goes back on the frame. So, of course, I had to upgrade my media blasting cabinet, to clean the various brackets before re-assembly....duh...

Now, my air compressor is feeling a bit too small for the work I ask of it....oh well...short work time....recharge compressor....short work time...rinse, lather, repeat.....

Anyone know of a huge used aircompressor going for cheap?;)

watch rollerauctions.com, with the crappy economy, they've been dealing with auto and rental businesses like crazy.

Back from Cabo San Lucas, back to work.

Turns out POR15 applies best when it is about 100 degrees outside. Good for truck, bad for me. So, the sandblaster got a workout on the skid plates, and the gas tank got a big scrubbing, and got started on painting.

Funnily enough, I'm gonna be trying again to switch gas tanks in my '74 sometime this week...I'll be sure to take some pics. Looks like those 4 smaller hoses go straight up to the vapor separator in pretty much the same order that they come off the tank.

sometimes 3 pics is worth a word...gastank hoses? mines easy to see.

Thanks guys, that almost seems too easy...I will probably get the fuel pickup/return ones backwards somehow...

I spent 4 hours this morning under the body, finish grinding, and applying seam sealer to the front 2/3d's of the thing.

Then, as I was getting ready to move to the back third, I thought to pop the final corner off, and the access panel for the rear passenger mount (assuming it was in good shape, like the drivers side)

or, it's rotten as hell, and I got a crapload of fabrication to do, before I can apply the truck bedliner to the underside....:ban:
