I don't think we are planning to do the rear cargo area, but doors will get some, and I might do a glue on for the ceiling. I've heard the same thing about stick on falling.

@scorcher1967 any particular reason you went with the Eastwood sound deadening product vs. other manufacturers?

It's been a couple years since I bought it. At the time, there were not a lot of choices. Dynamat was the best, but also the most expensive. Eastwood product had almost the same acoustic performance, but at 3/5th the cost. There were a couple others, much cheaper, but also much less acoustic dampening. I have rarely been disappointed with Eastwood products, and this stuff gave the best "bang for the buck".

There are more options nowadays, and I have not researched enough to determine the best value.

I have enough of the Eastwood to finish the doors. If Elyse opts to do the cargo sides and tailgate, maybe we look at a different product?

Looks like the folks that are doing serious sound deadening are using a product like Dynamat et al. in small squares for dampening, then using MLV with CCF for sound blocking and sound absorption.

Yep. That's it.

Are those the same size screws as the mirror bolts. I just purchased a bag of 25 stainless steel ones if you need a few.

No, the mirror bolts are a lot larger. Top of my head, those vent screws are 4mm or 5mm.

No the mirror screws are much larger. these screws are tiny compared to the ones for the mirrors.

If you guys want, I have a couple spares. One is stock color, but has small cracks around the square hole. The bottom one has been painted, but far better shape. Pick one and I'll send it out. Free to the cause.

Fitting the rear door fixed window rubber was more challenging than expected. The fit of the new rubber leaves a lot to be desired, but as the choice is this or nothing...I'll take it!


This is the worst fit...top rear corner


Looks like they tried to notch the rubber to clear the upper bracket here, but not nearly enough, and causes the bulge top front


And where lower rear corner just does not quite seal.

Laid the cleaned, repaired and shiny old floor mat in place....mostly to get it out of the kitchen....looks pretty good.

Started assembly on the passenger doors....I have two of everything, thanks to the Frankencruiser....but have to go scavenger hunt for front passenger window regulator and rear passenger door latch. I have 5 rear door regulators, but only one front regulator...I have to be missing a bag somewhere.

Front Passenger door does latch and open from inside and outside....glad I took so many pictures of the doors on disassembly!

Fun to be fitting all back together, but need patience! God knows that we ex[ect everything to be perfect, but never is!!! I was so worried about tearing those that I had a pro put those in, and he had a beast of a time.
