Okay WTF..... any tips on getting this high pressure PS bracket off??

Day one is a wrap...

I was slowed down by a few mistakes and a lack of knowing exactly where some things were. I re-watched @OTRAMM video on the oil pump gasket and should hopefully get to that tomorrow

Few things

The AC belt still has me confused so I might so some research on that Tonight.

Glad I did the PS pressure and soft lines. The soft ones were toast and probably just waiting to blow. (Still considering the paperclip upgrade but that looks pretty accessible with everything in place

I went a lot slower than I expected but I don't go back to work till tue so hopefully it all comes together

I stripped the fan bolts and had to make a trip to the hardware store but ill grab some from wits' end on my next purchase

Whoever said soak the soft PS lines in boiling water is a fu$#ing genius it worked perfectly

Tomorrow is battery cable upgrade, distributor o-ring, oil pump seal, flush the block put new rad, hoses, and belts in and hopefully wrap this up.

Cables aren’t bad. I’d suggest reusing the same support brackets and either wrapping them in place with electrical tape or even zip ties. I’ve seen people not strap them down using the OEM mounting points only to watch the steering gear shaft work a hole into the sheathing. If you can do it without the battery and tray in place you’ll curse a lot less. 😜

@NLXTACY should I reuse the plastic cover on the starter or will it be okay without it... it obviously doesn't fit 🤷‍♂️

Looks like your well prepared. Go for it!

I also got the cable kit from forerunner and was looking at what it was going to take to put in last night. Instead of undoing all the nicely wrapped wire loom im thinking of just cutting and capping the main leads to be replaced as close to the wrapping as I can. Then install the new cable kit and zip tying to the outside of the loom where needed. Most of the ground cable can just come out and go in. Let me know what your thoughts are.

I cut it all out, it looks like a bunch of stuff but its just the positive and negative wires. I also tried to rout it the same way and taled/zip tied where I could. It ain't pretty but it will hold. Also extensions are your fri

Battery upgrade folks @NLXTACY????

What am I missing, I've got 2 short ones left. I understand one goes from fender to Battery Neg but where does the other one go???????

I did ps/neg and the firewall one behind the valve cover.... i can't find any pics in my search for where it goes??? Anyone ????

Is it the wire to the right of the oil dip stick to the fender?????

Okay I'm STUCK in the water. The breaker bar i have isn't going in enough to get a good hold and its contorted the @OTRAMM plate. It looks like the 3/4 hole is hitting the pully (last pic) and not completely seated. I tried to use an adapter for the 1/2 inch hole and snapped the extension.... this was kinda my fear of this project. Any suggestions???? I thought about redrilling the otramm plate but I don't have anything strong or big enough to drill that out.

s***.........

It's lunch so I'm walking away so I don't do something stupid.

Lingering questions. .......
1- missing battery ground cable
2- crank bolt

Got it, just have to loosen the screws for the otram plate to get the breaker bar seated a bit more and bam it came loose

Funny not funny...... these will be replaced with new Wits's end hardware and will forever be remembered as the 3 screws that made me question the meaning of life

Not the OEM thermostat.... keep finding BS.

On to the block flush!!!almost there

So apparently I can't roll it out of the garage with the battery out cause it won't come out of park. Luckily a quick mud search and there is an over ride button on the shifter console..... learn something new everyday

Flushed it, now just got to put it back together.

For those of you that use distilled water do you just run nothing but the water for a while then drain and refill with coolant??

I forgot to get distilled water and am thinking of just doing the coolant and calling it. Thoughts???
