Man, you are faster than the guys from Pimp-my-ride. Don't forget to throw in some synthetic oil to make sure the motor does not smoke anymore :D That should take care of the motor rebuild. :D

You should have put a webcam up.

Nice write up/build up. You 80's and 100's make some sweet rides! And as soon as I can take the top off an 80 or 100, I am coming over to the dark side...

:D

Looks great!

Awesome, awesome, awesone writeup. This is going to help me SO much when I install my stuff.

OK, for the rear. Isn't it basically the same as a FJ-80 install? I have never pulled the brake lines and the lateral control arm.

My trick is to do one side at a time and use a bottle jack to extent the axle enought to pull the spring and then ad the new one. I am wondering is that will work on my 100.

It basically is the same. I tried your method and failed to get the springs out. So I went to the FSM and followed it step by step. It was also very late and I was losing patience quickly.

Thanks for the words of encouragement etc. My work clothes are drying and I need a coffee. On the agenda today:

Tweak torsion bars to get proper lift
Help speed up the paint drying process of sliders and rear bumper.
Tires go on at 2pm pacific.
Paint front bumper
Fab some brackets and tabs for the rear lift
Install sliders
Install rear bumper
Time permitting: install front bumper.

Let me know if you have any questions :flipoff2:

What did you use to spray your sliders/bumper?

I used rattle cans. I planned on having it all powder coated, but went with the wal-mart special due to the ease up touching up after I scratch the bejesus out of it...

The prep work is key. Make sure the grease and crap is off it. Scuff up your base, and go slow when applying paint. Lots of layers etc.

Looks good!

Front Shocks

Jack rig up and use jack stands. Place another jack under the A arm to take the weight off the shock so the lower bolt is easier to remove.

19mm nut and bolt holds the bottom of the shock on.

Top was a pain. Use method same as the rear. Wrench on top then use monkey wrench or vice grips on the bottom

Slider install

Next up is installing the sliders. Use jack stands to hold up the slider so you can get it into place.

Albert-113.jpg

Get U-bolts around the frame and lined up with the slider. Make sure you don't pinch any wires. Passenger side on mine had nothing interfering.

Very Nice Work!

THat thing is going to be a beast. Great job...

I think this should make into the FAQ. Awesome documentation!

Are you replacing your broken skidplate? If so mine is missing the door over the drain plug. Maybe we can work something out on the one from yours?

Slider install

Driverside is a little tricky. You need to pop the brake line away from the frame so you don't pinch. REPEAT do not put the u-bolt over the brake line.

Albert-124.jpg

Use a screw driver to gently pop the line out of the plastic holder. Slide the blade under the line and twist.

U-bolt UNDER the brake line
