Painting Sliders

Acetone to get the impurities off the sliders, then scruffed them with 220, then tack clothed them.

A bit of primer to get it sticky

Torsion Bar Install

You will need a 12mm, 22mm, and 30mm sockets for this part. First remove the plastic skid plate. As you can see mine is broke on the driverside.

Measure the distance between the bottom of the fender and the top of the grease cap. My stats were Driver 18" passenger 18.5 inches.

Next jack up the 100 series via the frame and DO NOT lift it under the control arms. Always use jack stands and the jacks as a safegaurd. Needs to be lifted up so that the suspension droops.

Lets meet the torsion bar family

Please read this doc before removing. Shows you how to index/measure the Anchor Arm. I will make this an image later.

Torsion Bar FSM

This is the Anchor Arm. This has the adjusting bolt that raises and lowers your vehicles. Loosen this first back it off so there isn't any energy stores up on the bar. The Anchor arm is located towards the rear of the vehicle, the torque arm towards the front.

This is the Torque Arm. It attaches to the front of the vehicle and doesn't have any adjustments. Remove the two nuts holding the Torque arm. There is one long bolt and one short bolt. The short bolt cannot fully come out and will cause you a little headache when trying to remove the torque arm.

Ratchet is on the long bolt side

You pulling an all nighter?

What winch are you going with?

It looks like you have your weekend spoken for !!

Your project is coming along nicely Bull, the transfomation is always exciting going from stock to "custom" !! :)

Dont forget to give us some ride and drive comments once you hit the pavement (and of course, THE DIRT !) with your "new" rig !! You wont believe how much sportier your 100 rides with that OME suspension

The sliders look real nice, are you planning on Painting the bumpers too ? :grinpimp:

Torsion Bars

Bolts for the Torque Arm. They stay in the frame.
