Does anyone have any experience with Proffitt's Old Man Emu lift kits with the shackle reversal? They show them as a 3" lift. Are these the 2.5" OME lift plus extended shackle to get to the 3"? Are there any downside to a shackle reversal?

Thanks

Ok, first of all, the shackle reversal thing has been discussed ad nauseum, you just need to make a decision.

OME has been around a long time and is proven, if that is what you want you more than likely will not regret the purchase.

Proffitt's is a hell of a good company.

That's the most mickey mouse reversal kit I've seen to date....(especially the shackles)..
Just as well whack-off the stock components and swap holes...

I agree there is some questions not answered in their product's description however just swapping the rear hangers to front will result in crazy caster problems. You can build your own. You do, however, have to keep the front and rear spring eyes relative to the stock positions after the hanger and shackle are reversed. This is why the front hanger appears to hang down in the aftermarket kits. Simply attaching the rear hanger to the front position will result in your pinion angle being unusable. The description on Proffit's site says it reuses the stock hangers and shackles. Since the picture shows new hangers and shackles I'm assuming there is some kind of misprint. You should call for clarification
