my experience comes from personal experience working with both in major tire shops. as well as wheeling with people that have both and driving vehicles with both.

that being said i think the BFG all terrains (which are not what is in question here) really suck! they dont and wont clean for crap unless tons and tons of wheel speed is available and even then they just pack right back up. however they do last on the street and do well in slick Street conditions. offroad i never recomend them.

thats my buck fifty.

i run pro comp mud terrains. i think they are good for mud snow and the road. i do not like them in the rain, they slide very easy on wet pavement. i dont know how thick the sidewalls are but i busted one of my (sidewalls) going over a stump...
they have over 25-30k km on them easy and im 35-55%thread left(varying)

i did not seek these tires, i just got a good deal for a set from my boss's jeep. i like them but like i said only issues would be wet pavement driving and sidewalls...
if i were to buy id want to try the wrangler mtr's. my buddy has some on his 4runner and they work very well.

$0.02..

BFG AT's are an amazing tire for an AT. They SUCK in mud, but are great dirt tires.

I run bfg at's on 2 of my 40's..
But, you don't see any mud in vegas..

I'm happy with my Pro Comp MT's. I've got 19K on them and they still have 60% tread left on them. Note that I keep them balanced and rotated. I have run them in a lot of different terrains and they feel good in all situations-- not great in any one. You guys are correct about the price though, they climb pretty quick over 35" and I refuse to pay that much for a 37" that measures 35.5". Interco will be my next tire though. . .

Another vote for the BFG's only tire when used on and off road that I've used on multiple rigs in the eastern hills of Tenn and Ky for 20 years that holds up.

I'm still waiting and starting to wonder if they will ever come.......... I can either be refunded my $1420 or wait. Anyone know of other shops that can match this price for 5 tires, 5 black steelies, and shipping?

Did the shop give you a ballpark ETA for the BFG’s, or have they left you on eternal hold ?

They told me around the 19th of April that it would be around 3 weeks. I said it was fine because I wouldn't be home prior to June 1st but if they wouldn't make it by then I needed to know. I was told, no worries I'll have them way before June 1st. So now I'm in this situation since it's already the 20th and they still have no word.

Tirerack?

Americas tire?

I don't think they can beat my price after looking at them. I got 5 BFG M/Ts with 5 black steel rims 15x8 with I think 2.5 inch reverse backspace mounted, balanced, with center caps for $1420 shipped, now if they will only make it here.

I don't know: Five Procomp Series 51 15x8x3.75bs powder coated steel wheels, five 35x12.5x15 BFG MT, mount & balance, shipped, $1285.64. Not sure about your lug pattern and I don't know if they come with center caps but that shouldn't change the price too much.

You will love the BFGs. There is a reason they are so popular. I run the ATs (Its pretty dry in Utah most of the time) the tread wear is amazing and the sidewalls are among the best in the business. They should outlast the ProComps by 1.5 or 2 to one. I got 60K out of my last set of BFGs so I just had to buy another set. They are the only brand of tire I have had last down to the end of the tread without having to replace one for a blown sidewall, out of round, etc. They just plain work and I'm sold for life, no more need to experiment with expensive tires just because they have a fancy tread pattern or have, for some reason, become trendy with the street warrior crowd.

Maybe I entered the info. wrong, but it said $1700(+) for the package. Also, I think the 3.75 inch backspacing need a spacer, or am I wrong? Thanks for the input I'll check again.

Exactly why I wanted to wait for the BFG's but if they never come, I have to order from someone else. I've heard nothing but good things about BFGs, if it's not broken don't fix it right? Thanks !

tirepackage.com I recheck you are correct. $1,235.69 for 5 of each then I need mounting and balancing add $49.95. So that ends up being $1285.64 like you stated. COOL!!!!! good deal. Thanks bro! savin me at least $50 minimum depending on the center cap price. Anyone have 35s for sale? Now I have to check again to make sure 3.75 inch backspace will work.

I am running 3.75 BS. I have the American Racing Mojave. You might have to adjust the knuckle stud so they hit the stop before your tires rub the springs when you turn lock to lock.

I have run both BFG Mud and all terrains, and I personally think they both suck in the mud. If the tires are mostly going to be on road tires, go with the MTs. They are fairly quiet and the tread holds up well. If they are going to be serious off road tires try another option. I've also heard they Pro Comp muds preform much like the BFG muds.

I've had both BFG and Pro Comp MTs on my rig. I thought they were very similar. I got over 40K miles from each. Again, I thought they were similar both on and offroad, but I don't do much difficult wheeling in my 60, mostly dirt roads and easy stuff (but lots of miles of these roads).

If the price is similar, I would probably get the BFGs. At the time I bought the Pro Comps, they had a buy three, get one free deal. When I needed new tires, if they would have had that deal again, I would have bought them again. They didn't, and BFGs were easier for me to get and similarly priced, so I went with those. JMHO.
