Jackass in my neighborhood threw their car in reverse then instead of hitting brakes floored the gas...to make matters worse they ran...thanks to some of my neighbors who supplied me with license plate after the cops showed up, I tracked this scum.bag down...showed up as he was covering the car up in backyard...got the insurance info (after saying I wouldn't report it but it was to late lol)..anyway they had current insurance, and cops picked him up yesterday...my driver side is done, both doors plus internals , drivers door sill caved in, pillar in between both doors screwed, suspension jacked, and hood...adjuster said totaled just waiting on numbers...already found a 02 with 188k with all service records and maintenance up date

Dang man that Sucks!

Glad you were able to get the police involved and found the vehicle with an insured owner...

Your very lucky there!

Deapite the bad fortune of it being totalled.

He ran??? What a jerk-lawsuit time.

They didn't live in my neighborhood and were scratchy is only reason someone wrote plate down...I wish I could have filmed the look on their face as me and my neighbor
Knocked on their door literally in the ghetto...owner was not the driver but boyfriend of owner...it was a very scratchy scary situation but we got it done

Coverage in depth is the key in sketchy neighborhoods. Unless you are working a gig that precludes it ( then you just have to have brass;). Glad that part worked out ok !

Wow that sucks! Sorry to hear that. Good that cops got them - I hate hit and run. I wonder if the driver was drunk. The hit must be at pretty good speed to cause such damage.

Glad you're okay! Got any pics of the damaged cruiser??

Dam . people these days... Sorry to here about it. Of course pictures would be better...

Sorry to hear, hopefully you can find a solid replacement!

Pictures don't do it justice, especially damage to pillar in between doors, last picture u can see the vehicle sagging to drivers side...I spent some money putting a regular suspension on this thing and it's jacked, just had brake system replaced and everyone knows that's not cheap...plus side is my son was driving and guy that hit my car had a small ladder in his trunk and if my son would have been in his car it would have went through window and killed him

Retails 10500 minus miles =9700...what should I expect from insurance how how do I make sure they pay me what it's worth

Sorry to hear man. Push hard on insurance for work done you can document, may easy the pain. I'd would keep or sell to member for parts. But keep in mind these rigs go for very high price at Copart auction, so it will cost you.

It can be parted out, depending on year and millage, for $5 to $9k. But takes years and lots of work removing, packing & shipping.

Wait... What?!? Whats the big deal? Hammer, bondo, paint, maybe some used parts. I guess I'm not seeing the extent of the damage. Pillar looks ok, rocker panel is no bueno and will prob never be the same, but I'm sure a talented guy could make it somewhat better. Hey, I might be an idiot, but at least a positive one! I'm sorry this happend to you! Whatever you end up doing we are all rooting for you!

Crazy. Good luck with insurance. Maybe worse in person but doesn't actually look that bad in pics. Too bad you didn't have some sliders installed, probably would have just been the doors damaged.

Yep its hard for pictures show how bad it really is, adjuster told me totaled but can't discuss details of $$until police report finalized (another 7 business days)...I could fix everything myself except door sill and pillar, found anot her already just waiting for word on $$ before I go get it

Pillar looks okay in picture but when you open both doors ( with a lot of beating and jerking) it's definitely screwed...I had kicked around letting them pay me a reduced price and fixing it with a salvage title but just going start over...wasn't to far gone money wise in it...had a regular suspension on it instead of ahc, brake system brand new (everything), new tires , tinted windows a few weeks ago...
