It's fine for that, but I had a considerable amount of flex on mine with Pelican 1650's loaded down. It's certainly one of the more aesthetically pleasing racks out there but their fit and finish leaves a lot to be desired IMHO.
When you compare it to racks like the four runner, arb,Sherpa and gams…it’s one of the lessor priced options and it does look nice. My concern is preventing leaks. You can use a marine grade sealant but it’s really messy to work with but it will never leak. I can’t recall the name of it but it was used on my previous rack. Worked great in Tennessee downpours.

I never had any leaks with mine either but I was precise and liberal with the sealant.

I finally got around to installing mine. Ordered in May and had it since June but ski season is here so I had to get it done. I did two things that I think are nice details.

first is I bought 6 more of these covers (there are 2 on the vehicle so 8 total)

I used the stock bracket to transfer the center of the hole then drilled them out with a 3/4” hole saw.

I used this polyurethane sealant because it’s made to hold up to UV

The second detail was installing a strip of PPF under where the fairing sits to keep it from rubbing the paint.

I wish I would’ve seen this post before I installed my rack! Very clean install!

The security screws seem like a good idea to me. No point locking stuff to the rack if a simple phillips or star bit can remove the bars in about a minute. I ordered some galvanized ones from them as well and will likely spray paint them. Also got the aluminum washers from Jegs.
Had the McMaster Torx semi tamper proof stainless screws & the aluminum washers for about 6 months now with zero signs of rust. Highly recommend!

Just ordered my Prinsu rack and am thinking through/planning install. Would love to hear thoughts on using this product. Gamiviti uses it in his install video on YouTube.

I'd much prefer a caulk gun application for cleaner installation. This is also readily available at my local Home Depot. My fear with the Permatex 80011 is making mess and not being able to get precise application.

If you want the best, black-coloured sealant you can find, what you need is Sikaflex 291. That said, most folks here are greatly exaggerating the "precision" required in sealing a few bolt holes.

I removed/re-installed various rack and crossbar options on my LX no less than 5-6 times, re-sealing each time, and have never had so much as a drop of water intrusion. It's a very, very simple thing to do well. And if you want to be incredibly anal, a few pieces of painters tape will ensure whatever level of "precision" you desire.

IMO, Permatex 80011 is the way to go. I used it on my Prinsu, and used it on my current Dissent rack as well.
Don't stress about getting it precise - you want it all over everything.
The way prinsu stacks the spacers and washers, there are various intrusion points.

Here's my dissent install:

You can also get the Permatex #2 80015 in a 1.5 tube which is easier to apply than the 80011 packet. Used on my Prinsu install and no leaks so far. My truck stays outside.
