Did you drop headliner to do this?
No, fortunately I was able to use those stand-off bolts to keep them in place enough to get everything I stalled.

Oh, are these just threaded rod? I thought maybe you put some nuts in through the bottom.

yep. As i unscrewed the 2 bolts, i realized that the captive nut plate was completely loose. I was able to thread on those rods, and then left them in place when I set the rack side. Then, removed the rod and used the mounting bolt.

I have one that I completely lost and had to replace with a nutsert. I hate it but try to not lose sleep about it. If it becomes an issue I'm just going to pay an upholstery shop to drop the liner and put some real nuts and bolts in.

I'm not sure I fully understand your question, that said, a couple of tips.

Pre-assemble the rack with enough crossbars to give it some rigidity. I used 4x4's blocks on towels to initially set the rack on, then removed them as I set the front or back into position using the supplies spacers for a rough fit.

If I recall, the center feet will touch the roof before the end feet do, so that is the most critical spacing. As I said before, this part is time consuming to get fitted correctly. Weak link on the Prinsu rack for sure.
More that I'm curious if you are free and clear of the bolt carrier falling into the vehicle with a successful removal of the factory side rails, or can you knock the carrier in inadvertently by pushing down on the yellow sleeves that stick up? Just looking to be fully informed before I start this task!

As for @radman 's all thread - is that just so you can retrieve the carrier if it get's knocked into the vehicle during install of the RR?

Got it. I had no trouble with the bolt carrier on 2 separate installs. If Prinsu still uses the round aluminum spacers, they fit over the yellow sleeve protruding up from the roof. Another option that was explored trying to improve on the supplied spacers was to source the spacer or shim from another brand of rack as the base against the roof. I think someone else did that here on Mud, they made their own?

In my situation, I accidently pushed one yellow sleeve down while the rack was still just balanced on the spacers and my clumsy handling caused the spacers to tip over. The clip/carrier that was compromised to start with was the one the went out of place.

Anybody know what the approximate net weight addition with the Prinsu on the 200? Meaning Prinsu rack minus the weight of the stock roof rack system? Think I remember the Prinsu being around 50lbs however my truck didn't come with the OEM rack. Trying to calculate approx added weight of all the new stuff on my truck before I buy new springs.

McMaster-Carr is amazing. Ordered stainless bolts and washers yesterday for the cross-bars and fairing, UPS delivered today.

I'd say 50 is a conservative estimate.
"50 is conservative" meaning 50lbs for the weight of the Prinsu rack is conservative? That is the stated weight of the rack on their website. Anybody have a clue about the weight of the stock 200 roof rack?

@calixto just weighed my LX rack with crossbars - 13.5 lbs. Your LC rack has an extra set of mount points and longer rails - can't imagine it's more than 20 lbs.

Installed my Prinsu a few weeks ago. Removal of existing rack was easy, just go slow on loosening and alternate between the two bolt mounts. Polished the roof while removing pin stripes from the door panels. Applied ceramic coating.

I was surprised by the amount of gunk in the roof channels. Flushed just to make sure the drains were clear after cleaning. Used Permatex #2. Got everything buttoned up and it seems square.

I forgot to add the light bar brackets to my order. Also ended up ordering the rack handles and BD lights on one side (won’t work with awning on other side). When ordering from CBI, make sure to get all the accessories you think you will need in 1 order. Their shipping rates are pricey.

After install, drove through some torrential thunderstorms and it rained both nights while camping but no leaks In my headliner.

I had the same concern about the awning clearing the handles. The Prinsu awning mounts definitely wont' clear the handles. Ended up ordering the Ironman 4x4 quick release awning brackets instead. They will definitely clear the handles, are easily removable, lockable & also allow for a tent pole to be inserted into them to make and awning freestanding if you want to go explore without having to totally break everything down. They also make some cheap mounts so you can quickly remove your awning & store it on a wall when you aren't using it at home. Really smart design! You will also need some sort of L bracket to mount the Ironman quick release bracket to your Prinsu but that's pretty easy to source. Awning Quick Release Mounting Brackets - https://ironman4x4america.com/awning-quick-release-mounting-brackets/ I like the Prinsu grab handles & the Baja Designs rock lights are super bright. I was going to order a second set for the rear sides but have found that it is overkill for my use.

Finally got around to mounting my Ironman 8ft awning on my Prinsu with the Ironman quick release brackets. Works great! Awning sits a tiny bit high & out however it allows for full use of the Prinsu grab handles as well as the rock lights. It would be possible to flip the stock Ironman L brackets upside down then drill & custom mount the quick release brackets/awning lower however you will lose function of the grab handles & lights. I don't plan on running my awning all the time so no biggie for me. I used some 1/4 20 carriage bolts to attach the Ironman L brackets to the Prinsu then attached the Ironman quick release brackets to those.
