Looks like I’m going to be doing the timing chain job out in my garage. I’ll probably start a thread on it in the appropriate forum but I’ll post a link up here if anyone is interested. I’m sure I’ll have a question or 2 along the way. I think my uncle might loan me an old truck for a couple weeks so I can take my time. I can use my wife’s van too, so I’ll be good. At least I can just take the time to do it right. I saw a few decent videos and I have a few read throughs. Mostly I’m worried about the cam lining up after putting the head back on but I think I’ve got it in my mind how to do it. Wish me luck!

Seems real solid. Underneath looks better than pictures. Nice seller. The rear window on the camper needs fixed/replaced which I new about. It is sagging from the hinge. But other than that we are good. Starting my pilgrimage back home.
Home. I’ll get some more pictures up tomorrow. Man, I forgot what the 3.4 feels like… haha. It’s such a unique feeling motor. I hadn’t driven one in years. I’ll post up the good and the “needs attention” at some point. Nothing urgent. It drove really well. Inspection and emissions tomorrow… then DMV.

Frame is perfect. It lived it’s whole life at the house behind it. Even have the window sticker in the glove box.

Auto. It’s a LX and the option list was the convinces group that has AC and power steering and a locking gas cap.
Pretty basic.

It was given to me. My sister in law passed away in February so since "You like old Toyotas" The other sisters gave that to me Sunday. Other than clean it up after this picture was taken in front of her old house yesterday I have done nothing to it other than drive it over to the house. It drives just fine and the AC even works. It still has the stock Toyota AM/FM/cassette player. the only issue is the ignition key does not open the gas cap so we have to find that key unless someone knows a way to "pop" the gas door without tearing it up.

It was meant for broverlanders. The way it bolts up to the frame I couldn't even keep the factory recovery points or install the typical ARB ones people run.
A few years back, I remember chatting with a woman in the Purcellville Harris Teeter parking lot. Her paradise blue Taco was parked next to mine. Wonder if that was her?
My 95 Taco is relatively option-free as well. Just a sliding rear window, A/C & AMFM Cassette. But it's a V6 4WD. Not even a clock, tach or intermittent wipers.
The ignition key should operate the fuel door. Mine can be quite sticky at times. Does it feel like it wants to turn at all? I can take a pic of the locking mechanism to give you an idea of what you're facing if key won't work.
Dealt with a nasty crusty old stain in the Koopa today.

Here's the 1st Gen Taco fuel door lock.
My primary key works pretty good. The backup one takes a lot of wiggling. The key turns to the left, BTW. Which I forget Every. Single. Time.

I can’t get it to even budge. I tried working the key from front to back with no results.
I’m going to go back over to the house and supposedly there are two keys that are Toyota keys and try them.
