Can't see it being the wiring, its dead simple. Checked all ground points and they are all grounded (test light to 12V+).

Like to see the steering wheel install.
That is great to hear you found a shop to do that. I would bet most would not touch that project with a 10' pole. I am curious about the 2003 steering wheel also. I hope they gave you the old parts back so you can sell them.I want to thank everyone here for this most excellent thread. As I am completely, mechanically, clueless, I took my new (to me) 2002 with the JBL integrated Nav/stereo/heat/air, to Titan Motoring in Nashville, and asked them to delete the whole thing, including the speakers, and replace with afternarket. At first, they said they couldn't do that, but I showed them this thread and all the technical information and they said they'd work on it...
Not only did I get the delete, I got a killer Sony stereo with bluetooth, incredible speakers (including a new subwoofer and amp), they found the heat/air controls from an old 2000 (the lack of color on one of the knobs is very similar to how mine had faded in my old 2000)...
AND...
They figured out how to put a 2003 wheel on, with airbag, so that I now have stereo controls at the wheel.
YOU guys rock and so does Titan Motoring!
(Titan also completely re-did my 3 rows of seats with new leather and put in new trim so the whole 2002 LOOKS GREAT- and is a complete Unicorn!)
Will do- give me a few minutes, I've got to run get them and it's just started to pour...Pictures of it on the vehicle front and side would be great. Thank you.
Yes, and I am actually just about to post them in Classifieds... I have the airbag, the JBL integrated Nav with bezel, nav controller, speakers. That is great to hear you found a shop to do that. By the way, this is what the original steering wheel looked like. I hated touching it, just texturally nasty, and it didn't rotate smoothly as it rubbed on the stem. That is great to hear you found a shop to do that. I think they installed the '03 airbag, because that was the one that fits the new wheel, but had to re-work the harness... I can't remember exactly, but yes, I do have an airbegDid they install a new airbag?
