Sounds like you just have rear AC. Here is the diagram for the Rear defogger and mirror heater. Check old terminal G11 and make sure it was connected to D22. This will take care of those issues but the Rear AC will need to be addressed.

Ok, thanks. I am going to try to source another panel with the correct button.
As for the grounding, I confirmed 11 G goes to both b9 and d22 in a three wire union.
could something else be going on?

Hard to say for sure. Looking at the wiring diagram if both of those do not work they are wired independently and should operate separately, but I also have a hard time believing both bulbs are burnt out on the controller. Did you try the rear defrost and touch the back glass to see if they come on? It may be too warm where you are to be sure.

Glad to see you got it on line. Hopefully that will help folks when they purchase their controller. It is important to match the new controller to the old controller if you have Rear Heat.

I need to do this! I also have a japan import 2002 lc. I wil search the yards first for a 3 knob and wire harness.

ok a problem has sprung up, I was hoping someone could help with.

Now I am getting the check engine light on, along with the "vsc trac" and "vsc off" lights on

It is throwing code p1126 "magnetic clutch circuit malfunction" I looked over the wires, I don't see anything obviously wrong.

could it be the A7 plug (a/c magnetic clutch) or B14 (magenetic clutch relay)

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Micah

it worked for awhile, then i had a head unit installed and this problem started. seems like it would be a short from the installer just working around in the space, right? also maybe or not related, the drivers side front speak stopped, working, I tore the speaker out and switched sides to verify the speaker is still good. the wiring just seems to be the problem

Interested to know which plugs the installer used to do the head unit. I went to an installer at first and they intended using the larger plug from the rear of the factory unit. I decided to do the install myself and looking at the diagrams that TXSunDevil posted they were going to use the incorrect plug for wiring it up. It was the smaller plug that worked for me.

Maybe get the pin out diagram and go through each wire one by one and check against it to ensure they have not terminated the head unit into another wire and causing a short.

Here is the FSM troubleshooting procedures for P1126. My guess is a wire got smashed or pulled out when they installed the stereo.

Trouble.

No center diff lock light but can hear it clicking.
No defrost.
No rear fan.
A/c button on at all times.
Cant change recirculation - stuck on fresh air.

Odd, starting to wonder if it's the panel itself...help?

I'm thinking it was a flood panel I got...the heated mirror button was finiky, kept playing with it and it's working now, same as the rear fan heat, kept wiggling it and it's now working intermittently. I'm going to take it apart and have a look inside.

Nothing obvious inside. Been playing with the other buttons that are non-functional and they don't want to come alive. Seeing as I got two of the others working by cycling them I think i'm going to try and find another panel 84010-60171 and see if that's the trouble. It's only money!

Well if the new 3 knob does the same you could probably sell the old one to a fellow mudder and recover some funds.
