power steering pump whining need advice

This may not be hardcore but I need some advice

I am trying to load the rig up this weekend and go on a 2 week crawl fest and I only have this weekend to solve this issue

I am trying find a solution

Recently changed the power steering pump and added a remote resvior for my hydro assist

I originally modified the ham o can to accept a pipe to AN fitting but later changed to hydro boost style can

Plenty of pressure and return

using amsoil

The pump whins when turning much like when at full turn and the belt is slipping

I thought it was air cavitation issue and or air bubles but I have bleed the system over time and the whinning wont go away

hmm...

Sounds like a bad pump.....So you should stay home and pre-fab me your 4 link system and I'll be all set...I'm willing to bite the freight and I'll be low for once.

which it's your pump .. ? are you using a stock ( for your pump ) pulley .. ?

Thought you have oil coolers .. did you have measure the oil temp ( IR thermometer ) ..?

I have some whine when the PS fluid its over 160°F ..

Rebuilt pump from a reputable guy in town.

Pully is OEM

Never ran the system up to temp so I have no idea about tempature

which it's your pump .. ? are you using a stock ( for your pump ) pulley .. ?

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going to work on the rig tomorrow (sunday) and try to get it all worked out.

Its more than likely your pump or there is air in the line

Maybe try the 40 section?

I hear ya......maybe everyone is out Christmas shopping, but I got my money on the pump Thats why I posted the pics because I just did all that and I had a BRAND NEW pump right out of the box make noise. How's the pressure when turning? Does it turn well or is it restricted? With the assist I don't know if you can tell......Pump pressure maybe..

Got it all worked out today

Two problems

had a small leak in the can and it was sucking air

and I am guessing the pump was bad

Installed a new can and a new pump and everything works great so far
