Hello All,
On my 91 LC, the rear of my power steering pump in leaking, anyone repaired this before and any tips, is it repairable or just replacing.

Also I am still looking for info if an 80 and 100 seat are interchangable, if anyone with both if they could try a swap or measuring it would be appreciated.

Thanks

If it's the pump just replace it - now if it's the box you're in a different ball park all together ($95 for re-build kit - $2k for new box  ). Make sure it's not the hose from the res. before you spend the money though - cdan can hook you up w/ an OEM pump.

try dumping in some of that stop leak additive. I had to dump in 1-1/2 bottles but it actually worked. big surprise. it wasn't my pump that was leaking though, it was the steering gear box where the shaft enters it.

Thanks, I can see it coming from the rear of the pump, you can see it slightly leaking onto the A/C compressor. There is a round circle on the back of the pump and it is coming from the bottom of the circle. Thanks for the replies

rebuilt a 93 3 times...long story...check with Dan on a kit

Hey Dan, I guess I need a kit, would love a parts list if you have one handy, 91 LC

You probably need to pm (private message) him.

I am still dealing with a leaky power steering box. Mine was leaking from the adjustment screw/lock nut on the top of the box. Apparently the tightening nut that locks the washer/gasket down had come loose and that's what caused the leak. I tightened everything down, but i still get a groan every so often.

concrete, make sure the groan isn't coming from your steering stabilizer. I was getting a loud groan on left hand turns only. I thought it was my steering box, but it turned out that the stabilizer was rubbing it's outer shell. I stuck it with a gob of grease and the sound is gone.
