I need to get a new power steering high pressure hose made and I am looking for some assistance in identifying the high pressure port on the gearbox. The gearbox came with my ‘78 FJ40 truck when I bought it in Sep 2009.

and a casted in number 120C02800 or 02600…

how many bolts hold the box to the frame?
plate doesn't look welded, looks more like a shim/spacer
are there sleeves thru the frame?
from the 2 pics, it looks sketchy

Same Qs. Needs to have sleeves between the plat and frame where the bolts go through and welded plate. Never seen a Toyota PS installed ahead of the cross member like that. Interesting concept.

Thank you for your interest and concerns… three bolts: two thru sleeves inside the frame. Third bolt thru a welded sleeve on the bottom of the frame. Plate does not appear to be welded to the frame.

Any insights on my original question?

I did find that on a Saginaw gearbox the low pressure port is the one closest to the input shaft and larger than the high port. On the gearbox above, the threaded portion of the two ports measure 16mm & 14 mm ID

The 16mm one should be the high pressure side. All of the times I've bought AN adapters that is the size needed for the high pressure side.
That was my original guess but subsequent research has lead me to think the high pressure or input port is the smaller, 14 mm one. Really wanted to see what others know.
