I'm hoping someone can help me out here. I tore my power steering gear box down this past weekend. The box was installed on a 1982 FJ40 which I was told had factory P/S. However after pulling everything apart I discovered the gear box was a ball bearing unit. So the PO must have changed it out at some point.
Based on the features (one oil passage, no power piston plunger) the late FJ60 boxes seem to be a close match. However my unit included a small needle bearing that I can't manage to locate on the parts diagram.
Does anyone know what Toyota part number for the bearing? Or a tip as to what year model gear box I have so I can track it down?
Thanks in advance!
