Maybe this is a loaded question because maybe they're all desirable. I've been around 40s a long time and have been on the fence trying to get another prime condition 76 or newer 40 series or go with a 45.

What are some of the FAQs that you guys have learned along the way in regards to which years or models, SWB, LWB etc are more sought after or maybe just slightly nicer to own.

SWB I believe are more rare, but I am partial to the LWB. Longer wheel base , fold down windshield, all around to me a nicer look.

If you’re taller than 5’10 you might not be too comfortable in a 45. I know some guys do it but if I were any taller I wouldn’t drive mine on a regular basis.

But that’s just me.

So true, I’m 6’ 1” driving it more than an hour is horrible. If your (Landcruiser 909) Rob , it’s not an issue he just finished a 4000 mile road trip.

Well, I'm 6'1" so maybe I should wait and see how serious I like them after a test drive.

Thanks for the feedback!

I love mine but it would likely be the first to go if I went from collecting to needing a useful, drivable, long range truck. Cramped. Loud. Rough.

That said, I am blessed to have it and hope I never need to sell it.

If you love to drive like trucks (45´s pre 73 if they are original ) have been in the 50`s
that´s music ....cramped loud & rough...
"Music is an art form and cultural activity whose medium is sound organized in time.

...not boring that´s 4 sure.... rattle rattle rattle :)

A bigger one
Borgward B4500 1957 enjoy the music
& the guys in the 50`s drove them 10 hours & more every day....
no servo no radio no sound insulation in the cabin and doors
transmission not synchronized.
The cabin hot in summer cold in winter & the road conditions thoses days... hmmm.
These trucks rattled & squeked all day long .. no sissies in the 50´s.
